A fight between two high school students ended up landing a teacher in the hospital Monday after one of the teenagers turned on the educator, school officials said.
The two Douglass High School students were fighting each other until a teacher attempted to break it up, Atlanta Public Schools told Channel 2 Action News. The fight was captured on video uploaded to Instagram.
The video appears to show the student repeatedly punch the teacher, who is on the ground trying to block his head.
The school district told Channel 2 the student is in ninth grade and was charged with assault by school police.
Staff members were able to separate the student from the teacher and stop the assault, the news station reported. The teacher was taken to a hospital to be checked out for minor injuries before being released.
