An Arizona lawmaker has resigned after it was revealed he was arrested 35 years ago for allegedly paying two boys $10 to have sex with him.

Republican State Rep David Stringer was accused of raping the two teens after meeting them in a Baltimore park in 1983.

One of the boys told police that Stringer, who was 35 or 36 at the time, had asked the boys to come over to his apartment to have sex.

Both of the boys were under the age of 15 and one had a developmental disability, according to an uncovered report from the Baltimore Police Department.

Stringer has strongly denied the allegations, and said they have 'no basis in fact.'

According to the report, Stringer allegedly paid the boys $10 each after they had oral sex for the first time.

One of the boys told police he went back to Stringer's apartment at least 10 more times to perform oral sex or penetrative sex.

The report was uncovered following an ethics investigation into the sex-crime charges and released by the Arizona House of Representatives on Friday.

Stringer's case was expunged after he accepted a plea deal for two fourth-degree petty offenses and was sentenced to five years of supervised probation, according to The Arizona Republic.

He was also required to seek admission to a treatment clinic that appears to be for sex offenders, the newspaper said.

Stringer took to Facebook at 3am on Saturday to profess his innocence against what he claimed were 'sensationalized allegations' that had 'no basis in fact'.

He said he was 'forced' to resign after he was confronted with the police report by House Speaker Rusty Bowers, who called the allegations 'absolutely appalling and sickening'.
