A newborn wrapped in a T-shirt was found on the stoop of a Florida apartment Saturday – the second time in less than two years a baby has been abandoned at the same complex, the Orlando Sentinel reports.

Orlando police said the 1-day-old baby appeared to be in good health and was taken to a nearby hospital to be evaluated.

WKMG reports that the baby was found with a note apparently written by the mother, describing a violent domestic situation that could have been harmful to the child. Police are not discussing any specific details in the note.

Clive Petgrave told the paper he woke up Saturday morning to officers knocking on his door. By that time Petgrave said they had already taken away the crying infant, who was found on the stoop outside his Willow Key unit.

Petgrave said investigators asked if he had recently noticed any pregnant women in the area, but he hadn’t.

In October of 2017, another baby was found at the Willow Key complex with a note asking that someone take her to a fire station. The child was reportedly fully clothed and healthy.

this is going to be alot more prevalent with less services for women & easy access to birth control & help & fuck any past menopause peanut gallery types ready to huff up, many of these women are terrified already & these two did try to give their babies some chance, there are too many kids having kids that shouldn't & wouldn't with help if they had it or would take it, same with older women living in the worse situations imaginable

Mommy did the right thing and the best thing. She thought it through with her brain and her heart and I applaud her actions. So many articles on DD where newborns are buried alive or wrapped in plastic bags. Whoever this girl/woman is, she did the best and only thing she could.

"Three newborn babies found abandoned years apart at an Orlando apartment complex are all siblings, DNA testing has shown.

Back in 2016 a newborn baby was abandoned outside an apartment at the Willow Key Apartments on Arnold Palmer Drive. Another baby was abandoned at the complex in 2017 and it happened again last summer.

Orlando Police Department investigators said they have determined that all three babies have the same mother and father.

The detective on the case is now asking for funding to use the services of a company called United Data Connect. The company will analyze the DNA and potentially help police track down the parents.

In a memo to Orlando Police Chief Orlando Rolon requesting money, a detective wrote: “Based on the egregious and neglectful behavior of the parent(s), and the bizarre facts of this case, unlike any other documented case, it is imperative to conduct a well-being check of all involved parties. This cannot be done without the assistance of United Data Connect.”

The request for funding was approved at the last city commission meeting."

Orlando police say they have found the biological mother of the three newborns left at apartment complexes across a span of three years.

The babies were found in 2016, 2017 and in 2019 on different doorsteps. Officers learned last year via DNA evidence the three are siblings.

The most recent infant was found in July 2019. A note found with the baby said the mother left him because she was in fear of the child’s father, according to police.

In October 2017, a baby girl was found with a note in the stairwell at the Willow Key Apartments and in 2016 a baby boy was found at Buena Vista Point Apartments.

“A lot more has been uncovered since then,” Detective Frank Chisari said.

Officials said Wednesday they’ve been in contact with their biological mother since late November and were able to track her down with a DNA match. She told authorities she delivered all three children herself.

Detectives also revealed all three infants were from the same mother and father, but do not know the biological dad’s identity at this time.

“We are looking to help the biological mother, who we have identified, and get her the services she needs, while at the same time, still considering what criminal charges are possibly pending against her,” Chisari said.

Investigators with the Orlando Police Department say they are working with the State Attorney’s Office to see what charges she could face and how she could be held accountable.

...

This is retarded.

“We are looking to help the biological mother, who we have identified, and get her the services she needs, while at the same time, still considering what criminal charges are possibly pending against her,” Chisari said.

They cannot help but dip their fingers in the prosecution pile and twiddle them around a little. "Oh we want to help you" ...

@Blizzard

Charging her may be the only way to get her away from a situation that is both physically and emotionally dangerous to her.

@Muriel Schwenck

I would hope that the rights of both parents were terminated to the 2016 & 2017 babies in absentia.

Her rights should be terminated to the 2019 baby (I would assume due to covid this has not happened) as well.
