An Auburn asshole was arrested Thursday after Placer County sheriff’s deputies say he decapitated his family dog.

Investigators say 31-year-old Christopher Dougherty told his family that he killed Milo, their 3-year-old Jack Russell/Chihuahua mix.

Deputies responded to Dougherty’s Auburn home and found him with blood on his clothes. Investigators say Dougherty also had a bloody knife with what looked like dog hair on it.

According to a news release from the sheriff’s office, a deputy later found that Milo had been completely decapitated, wrapped in a rug and thrown in the trash.
Deputies returned Milo to Dougherty’s family — inside a box so they would not have to see him.

Well that sounds like grounds for divorce. Lady, if your hubby throws a shit fit and does this now, imagine what he'll be like the next time* and there isn't a helpless animal around.

This could have turned out a lot worse than it did and I hate to say it but, better doggo than one or more of the family.

The silver lining here is that, in his own way, Milo gave his life for his family... 10/10 - They're all good dogs.

* - There will be a next time with this fuck. He's already showing a callous indifference to life.

I have a sneaking sympathy. A jack russel/chihuaha mix sounds like a disaster. I bet the dog was never properly trained.
But all I would do is shoot the damn thing in the head or just give to a rescue.
Our dog killer has little self discipline. Enjoy the consequences, asshole.
