An Amber Alert has been issued for a 3-year-old girl who was reported abducted in North Carolina Wednesday, allegedly taken by a woman in her 20s, authorities said.

Ahlora Ashanti Sample Lindiment was reported abducted at 6:33 p.m. Wednesday from the Phillips Avenue area in Greensboro, the Greensboro Police Department said.

The 3-year-old was taken from a playground, reported ABC Raleigh station WTVD.

"Investigators with the Greensboro Police Department, the Guilford County Sheriff's Office, and the FBI will be canvassing the neighborhood where Ahlora was last seen to speak to anyone who may have information to help find her," police said Thursday. "We encourage any resident or community member with information to come forward and speak to us. "

Police described the person who took Ahlora as a black woman in her 20s who stands at 5 feet 6 inches tall and weighs about 135 pounds, said police. Her hair was in a short ponytail and she was wearing a short-sleeve black crop top with black pants with stripes on the legs and tiger print faces.

Police later said they were looking to identify this woman seen on surveillance video near the scene. While she matches the description given earlier, police spokesman Ronald Glenn said they are "not calling her a suspect, but we believe she may have information about the incident. We want to identify and speak with her about any information or insight she may have."

Greensboro Police can confirm that Ahlora Shanti-Sample Lindiment has been safely located and has been reunited with her family.

Police say they are still searching for the suspect.

Police say a woman called the tip line saying they found a small child in front of a church. Police then responded and took the child, who turned out to be Ahlora, to the hospital.

Police say Ahlora is doing well and didn't have any apparent injuries.
Police said Ahlora was playing at a playground near an apartment complex and the suspect was around that playground and interacted with multiple adults and children.

"[The suspect] interacted with some adults, she interacted with multiple children in what was defined as a suspicious way," Greensboro Police Chief Wayne Scott said at a Thursday afternoon news conference.

Scott said Ahlora was seen leaving the playground with the suspect.

“The suspect is still at large, and we would ask the community to continue to help us," Scott said. "The obvious thing is for us to find the individual, determine what was the motive, what were the issues, and take our appropriate steps up to and including any charges that may be relevant. We obviously want to try and find this individual and get them off the street so we don’t have a similar issue occur.”

Scott said Ahlora "seems to be doing well for a 3-year-old."

"As the next day or so unfolds, we will do what’s called a forensic interview where we bring in a specially-trained police officer that will be able to communicate with her better than the average individual and try to determine what’s happened over the last 30 hours."

A woman accused of abducting a 3-year-old girl from a playground is in custody Saturday after being turned in, police said, by "an associate."

N'deneszia Lancaster, 22, of Greensboro is facing charges of first-degree kidnapping in the abduction of Ahlora Lindiment and an unrelated assault charge, police said.

Lancaster is accused of taking Ahlora away from her older siblings while she played on a merry-go-round at Claremont Courts Apartments.

Ahlora was found Thursday night in front of a local church.

Police have not yet released a motive in the abduction.

"Police are questioning her and getting as much information as they can right now," said Ron Glenn, spokesman for the police department.

Glenn said Lancaster was brought to one of the police stations Saturday morning by someone she knows.

"There was no resistance," Glenn said.

When asked if Lancaster was cooperating with questioning Glenn answered again, "there was no resistance," but wouldn't expand.

I was hoping I could find a FB but no luck under her name.

I am thinking she is mentally ill or has some cognitive impairments.

At least she did not hurt the child and left her at a church so she could be found.

Records from the North Carolina Department of Public Safety show that N'deneszia Lancaster has been released from prison.
Lancaster, 23, was serving a minimum 16-month, maximum 29-month sentence for two felony counts of child abduction.

She was convicted in August 2020. By that point, she had already been behind bars for 317 days. That pretrial jail time was credited as time served.

The NCDPS reported her release on Tuesday, February 23, 2021.

Lancaster was convicted of abducting then three-year-old Ahlora Lindiment from a playground at the Claremont Court Apartments in Greensboro on October 9, 2019.
She is on post-release supervision until February 2026 according to public records.
WFMY News 2 reached out to the Guilford County District Attorney's Office for additional details.
The clerks office notes indicate that she is to live in either Wake or Pitt County, depending on which of her parents she chooses to reside with. So, she is not returning to Greensboro.

Her probation officer must have access to her mental health records and she's ordered to take the requisite prescription medications. The terms of her probation also state she cannot be in the presence of any minors unless they are her siblings, in which case visitation will be supervised.

Lastly, Lancaster was banned from the Claremont Court location where she took Ahlora.
In 2019, Lancaster's lawyer Daniel Harris told Winters that she has a history of Bipolarism.
