The father of a 10-year-old boy killed in a Walnut Hills crash has been arrested.

Adriel Holloway, 27, was arrested Tuesday by Cincinnati’s fugitive apprehension squad, two days after his son died in the hospital.

Ariyonte Holloway, 10, was critically injured in the crash. He died Sunday at Cincinnati Children’s Hospital after more than a month of battling his injuries.

Police said the child’s father, Adriel Holloway, was the driver in the Aug. 1 crash. He struck a tree and tried to flee the scene after the crash, leaving his child behind, according to police. The 10-year-old was in the front passenger's seat. Witnesses said he was not wearing a seat belt and the airbag did not deploy.

Adriel Holloway was taken to the hospital and released after the crash.

I hate hearing stories where someone lingers like this. If you are going to die anyway, it's a shame to have to suffer for your last days on earth.
