This is the chilling moment a convicted paedophile child murderer lured a sobbing eight-year-old girl away from a bus stop in
Russia.
The killer and sex attacker had only been released days earlier from a 20-year jail term when he approached the girl in Kyzyl city, Russia, and lied that he was a policeman.
He walked up to her at her school bus stop before telling the child that her parents were waiting for her at the police station and he would take her to them.
Footage shows the unnamed man grabbing her by the hand and walking her along several streets looking for a place to rape her, detectives said.
'The girl began to cry,' a law enforcement source told Plus Inform newspaper.
'The accused man failed to calm her and tried to scare her. He hit her in the abdomen with his fist. The child began to cry louder.
'Her cries attracted the attention of a few men (at the filling station). One of them reprimanded the accused man, so he fled.'
This saved the girl from a horrific sex attack and possibly murder, according to sources close to the case.
Police were called and were soon able to identify the known paedophile and murderer from CCTV footage.
The Russian Investigative Committee said today he had been released from prison only nine days before he lured the girl away from the bus stop.
He had served 20 years in jail for killing an underage girl in 1998.
His previous convictions were for rape and other 'violent sexual actions' against a minor aged under 14 and and murder with the intention of covering up the other crimes.
