A mother who claims she was seduced by her 15-year-old son has avoided jail for having sexual relations with him.

The 50-year-old woman, who cannot be named for legal reasons, was told by a judge at Gloucester Crown Court that she had 'clearly breached her obligation as a mother.'

She pleaded guilty to three charges of sexual activity with her son but maintained that the boy initiated sexual activity and she just went along with what he wanted out of motherly love.

Prosecutor Stephen Dent said the woman spanked the boy with a paddle at his request and she dressed up in knickers, bra and boots as he wanted.

He said: 'He would wear a t-shirt, nothing else. This happened more than once, but less than six times,'

Simon Burch, representing the woman, said: 'He instigated and established the sexual offending.

'She had no enthusiasm for the conduct and was ashamed and contrite.'

Judge Ian Lawrie QC said: 'It does not absolve your client's responsibilities.

'She ignored the appropriate boundaries between mother and son.'

Mr Burch continued: 'Yes. Yes, she did.

'But she is vulnerable for a number of reasons. She is easily manipulated.

'In her previous, abusive, relationship, she was subject to physical violence and made to engage in sexual acts she did not want to.'

Referring to 'plaguing persevering messages' from her son, Mr Burch said: 'Not once had any of the ideas come from her. Not once did she encourage him.'

The judge said he accepted that.

She may be right that he iniatiated sex. So what.
It was her job to steer him on a better moral course. She must have been really horny with no moral compass at all. No sympathy from me. :vomit:

Not only did she fail as a mother in the most fundamental of ways I would dare say she has failed as a human being. As for the son he is as f***** as f***** can get

That line right there makes me think that son saw what the ex did to his mom and continued it. 15 is not as innocent as everyone likes to pretend. I actually have pity for the mom.
 
Disgusting

At the same time though, the maximum penalty for raping a kid in that country is like 6 months in jail, so it really doesnt matter how it was pled away

I totally see your point and I feel pity too. But still no sympathy.
And yes, 15 is not innocent at all. Or he wouldn't push mom for sex until she gave in. Fucking mom?! Pun intended. some other female will always spread more readily than Mother.

This news item and @Totemic comment reminded me of a very sad novel by maybe Calder Willingham?
A boy who struggles through the Depression, then his father abandons the family. His mother turned to prostitution. A transient life of boarding houses and seedy hotels. The son becomes excessively attracted to mom due to their intimate lifeatyle. After a few years , due to her own loneliness, she succumbs to a sexual relationship with her own son. She even gets demanding and that becomes harsh because he realizes he started it but he also knows his mom's weakness living so so close to her. the young fellow struggles to find a more wholesome life.

The novel is quite sad and sympathetic . it gets very graphic but always compassionate, like if Somerset Maugham wrote detailed sex scenes.
Does this ring a bell with any reader here?.

I bet her son goes on to live a life a crime ... rape ... and murder. Because boundaries and no sensible adult to teach him about the word no and all its different applications.

Over the past year, I've watched my sister-in-law attempt to divorce her husband. She has some mental issues due to a serious brain injury in 1995. While she mostly recovered, she is still very easy to manipulate. Her husband has done this in grand style. He's a con man, hasn't held a job in the 14+ years they've been married and has never provided for them, yet he had convinced her that he had done everything for them. It has taken her a year away from him to see how much she's been manipulated and coerced into pretty much everything. Now, he's sending threatening e-mails, telling her that he'll prove she's not mentally fit to take care of the three kids (who he claims he never wanted and she tricked him into having). Yesterday, she got another one while she was over at our house that made her break down because of how "horrible" she is. She is very fine looking (was a teenage model) and has a very nice body. I know I could get anything I wanted from her, but as much as I might like doing things with her, I also know how wrong it would be to prey on her because she is so easily manipulated. I can see that happening with the mother in this story. My SIL has a 12 year old daughter who has been told by her dad all her life that whatever she wants to do is fine. She can have sex whenever she wants to. If she wants to drink, it's fine. I'm glad my SIL is getting out before he totally damages these kids. The 9 year old son was always praised and told he was perfect and he could do anything he wanted. Luckily, the baby has never met dad. Hopefully she never will.

Taking advantage of someone who is fragile should be punishable by a few years in prison. If the son in this case did that, then he needs to be locked up.
