Sentenced: 4YO girl suffered “visible injuries to her entire body” mom says they are “self-inflicted”

A 28-year-old man is accused of physically abusing a 4-year-old girl, according to the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office.

Allen Michael Stanford was arrested Monday on three counts of child abuse with great bodily harm and one count of child neglect with great bodily harm.

The abuse came to the attention of authorities when Stanford and his live-in girlfriend took her 4-year-old daughter to Brandon Regional Hospital the child had suffered “visible injuries to her entire body,” according to the Sheriff’s Office.

The couple said the injuries were “self-inflicted.” An investigation revealed a pattern of physical abuse suffered by the child over an undisclosed period of time.

The girl was removed from the home and remains in protective custody.

The 28-year-old mother of the 4-year-old Seffner girl brought to the hospital over the weekend with injuries all over her body has now been arrested.

Amber Jones has been charged with felony child neglect with great bodily harm and failure to report child abuse.
