Skye's brother had made a list of things to do, and one thing that he listed was "strangle sister." The brother admitted to killing Skye, and said that he had been communicating with aliens and that they told him to kill his sister to save her from becoming a sex worker in the future.
Skye's brother was later found not criminally responsible due to mental illness.
