LONG ISLAND -- A Hicksville man was arraigned Monday in the sexual abuse of a 12-year-old girl at a Long Island park.

Sixty-eight-year-old Lal Chand has been charged with sexual abuse and endangering the welfare of a child.

Prosecutors say he approached the girl last week and began hugging and kissing her, then forced her to touch him.

Police say he let her go when her friends approached and she began screaming.
