April Jones's killer Mark Bridger has dropped his application for permission to appeal against his whole-life term.

The Judicial Office confirmed that Bridger, 47, had abandoned his attempt 11 days before a hearing was due to take place.

Needless to say, April's parents and loved ones are relieved to hear this.

Builders have begun preparing to demolish a cottage dubbed the "house of evil", where Mark Bridger is believed to have murdered April Jones.

Work started on Friday to flatten the house in Ceinws, Powys.

Scaffolding surrounds the property and the roof has been pulled off.

Sadly, conjugal visits aren't allowed in the UK.

He might have gotten an extra biscuit or cup of tea though.

Hopefully the next one gets a chance to finish the job and rid the world of that human garbage.

The father of murdered April Jones has said an organisation which offers treatment to paedophiles before they offend is "the way forward".

StopSO has offered therapy to 120 people - 18 based in Wales - who are non-offending paedophiles and sexual offenders.

The south Wales-based organisation has said it needs more funding to carry on.

Paul Jones, of Machynlleth, Powys, whose daughter was killed by Mark Bridger, is supporting its work.

Mr Jones, who has campaigned for more action against indecent images of children on the internet, told the BBC's Eye on Wales programme that he thought the work was important.

"It's a glimmer of hope in the future," he said.

"They're trying to offer help to paedophiles before they become offenders - it's the way forward. Prevention has to be the key."

As much as even the thought of pedophiles turns my stomach, his idea and program is great.

Clearly, we're failing miserably at "curing" pedophiles after they offend so treatment PRIOR to offending sounds like a viable plan.

I know, even the thought of a pedophile gets most of us stabby, but if this program can stop even one child from being raped or molested then it's worth a shot because what we're doing now isn't helping.
