Police in Nashville have arrested five children, among them a 12-year-old girl, in connection to the shooting death of a local musician during what was believed to be a robbery-gone-awry.

According to a press release from the Nashville Metro Police Department, on Friday morning detectives charged the underage suspects with criminal homicide for Thursday's killing of 24-year-old Kyle Yorlets.

Three of suspects were identified by investigators as Roniyah McKnight, 14; Diamond Lewis, 15, and Decorrius Wright, 16.

The names of the two youngest suspects, including a 12-year-old girl and a 13-year-old boy, were not released because of their age.

According to the police, the five kids were in a stolen Chevrolet Colorado pickup truck in the alley that runs behind Yorlets’ house when they spotted him outside on Thursday afternoon.

The minors accosted the man, took his wallet and demanded the keys to his car, which he refused to hand over, prompting the suspects to open fire on him, police stated.

The mortally wounded victim managed to make it inside his home, where he was found by one of his roommates at 3pm.

Yorlets was rushed to Vanderbilt University Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead from his injuries.

Really hate how they pass it off as a mere "robbery gone wrong". Sounds to me like it went exactly how they planned and desired it to go. This wasnt an accident. They better hit the lot of em with first degree murder on top of the robbery. SIckening shame we cant put these animals to the sword. Hopefully they die in a cage.

It's a real shame that any attempt to actually address the issues in the African American community are inevitably met with howls of 'RAYSIS!' from the Sharptons of the world.

I didnt read the article, just the summation here, did Sharpton speak out in defense of these suspects? The fuck for?

No, I was just speaking in general terms.

Anyone who wants to say that there are no systemic issues in the black community leading to these types of events is either ignorant or willfully ignorant.

But try to fix them and you will have 'race grievance' pimps crying 'racism' for their own gain.

We have the same bullshit happening here, albeit on a smaller scale with the indigenous community.

"Aboriginal children are 50 times more likely to be raped than white kids?"

"Something has to be done" yell the activists...

So when the government says "We're going to do something about the ridiculous rate of childhood sexual abuse in aboriginal communities", the race pimps and activists scream "You're RAYSIS!, you just want to label us as pedophiles!!! White kids get raped too!!"

Then the governments says "We aren't racists, so we'll just let children continue to be raped, because we really care about discrimination against our indigenous friends...."

So nothing is ever done, nothing ever changes.

Fear not, you can't beat white Europeans when it comes to mass murder and serial killings, so we still have that going for us.

This is an excellent demonstration of my exact point.

And no. The 'factual' points you intended to make are erroneous.

The problem hasn't a color per se. You can see in Hispanic communities, Native American, Hmong, Laotian, or Appalachian communities. Wherever poverty and hopelessness rule, you will find humans like this. Just pointless to fixate on their culture in particular, when I've observed the common denominator across cultures for decades.

I agree completely. Color has absolutely nothing to do with it.

But culture has everything to do with it.

Race and culture are not the same thing.

Races are equal. Cultures are not.

Look at the crime rates comparing white VS black.

Is it a racial difference? Or a cultural one?

So we have color out of the way, we agree race is not the issue. The United States has a cultural issue as well. Something in our society has led to an explosion of white folks committing mass murder, we own that.

Yeah, false equivalency and straw-man arguments can be fun. White people who commit mass murder are bad. Is it an issue that needs to be addressed? Yes it is. But that is not what we are talking about here.

I'm talking about the African American community and the obvious issues with drug abuse, inter-generational poverty, the fact that 3 quarters of black kids don't have a father in the home, the rate of incarceration, the no snitching/gangsta culture that has evolved over the last 50 years, etc, etc... leading to the types of horrible crimes we witness here.

When you have black children murdering each other single everyday, there's a serious problem.

Don't pretend that white kids kill each other at anything close to the same rate.

Deflections like 'but white people commit mass murder' don't help anyone. Ignoring the problem is why the problem still exists. If Americans cared about dead black kids and black kids going to jail for life, something would be done, but you all seem more interested in virtue signalling.

A 16-year-old boy who is charged with the murder of a Nashville musician is among four teenagers who escaped from a juvenile detention center.

Police in Tennessee are searching for Decorrius Wright and three other suspects, ages 16 and 17, who broke out of the downtown facility Saturday night.

The boys are believed to be armed and dangerous, the Metropolitan Nashville Police Department said in a news release.

Wright, 16, is charged with the murder of Nashville musician Kyle Yorlets, who was found shot to death outside his home in February.

Morris Marsh, 17, is accused of murder. Brandon Caruthers, 17, and Calvin Howse, 15, are facing armed robbery and gun possession charges.

Police said the teens were on a work detail when their staff supervisor left to respond to a fight elsewhere at the facility.

The teens then got onto an elevator to the ground floor and went through several doors to reach an exit. More than a half-hour elapsed before police were notified of the escape.

Two juveniles accused in the killing of Nashville musician Kyle Yorlets are being transferred to adult court.

Documents from the Juvenile Court of Davidson County confirm the case against 16-year-old Decorrius Wright and 15-year-old Diamond Lewis will be moved to adult court

Judge Sheila Calloway signed off on the transfer order on Wednesday. According to court documents, several factors were considered in the decision, including the extent and nature of their prior records, the aggressive or premeditated nature of the offense and their responses to treatment efforts.

The Facebook page, Justice for Kyle Yorlets, wrote: "Finally the news we have been waiting for -- we just received notification from the DA's office in Nashville. Both suspects Wright and Lewis have been transferred to adult court to be tried for Kyle's murder. Justice will be served!"

PLEA DEAL.
Two teenagers have pleaded guilty to second degree murder in the killing of Nashville musician Kyle Yorlets.

Diamond Lewis appeared in court first morning where she accepted a plea deal.
She will serve 25 years and must serve it at 100% — but she will receive jail credit for the two years served.

The remaining counts will be dismissed.

The other teen charged in the case, Decorrius Wright, pleaded guilty to second degree murder, especially aggravated robbery, escape from custody, and theft of property.

He will serve 26 years in prison and 10 months’ probation.

All together, Wright faced 12 charges that, with consecutive sentences, could have led to life in prison, without the possibility of parole. Under this deal, the other counts were dismissed.

Both Lewis and Wright faced several charges relating to the shooting death of Kyle Yorlets.

On February 7, 2019, Yorlets was fatally shot during a robbery in the alley outside his home.
He was 24 years old.
In his victim impact statement, Yorlets' father, Larry, confirmed that Kyle's mother, Deb Yorlets, died this summer from cancer.

He said in the statement that he thinks her health declined because of the murder case.
