The Medical Examiner's Office has released the manner of death for 5-month old Liam Farrar.

According to the report, Farrar's death was a homicide.

The infant died due to abusive head trauma, the ME concluded.

Charges have not yet been filed.

An Oklahoma City daycare is under investigation after a baby in its care suddenly stopped breathing and was sent to a hospital.

According to the Warr Acres police report, officials said 6-month-old Liam Farrar was dropped off Thursday around 8:45 a.m. at Kelly Knipfer's home daycare.

In the report, police said Knipfer said Liam was in baby swing, and was being fussy.

The police report said Knipfer picked Liam up when he started having "gasping-like respirations" before he went limp.

Police said Knipfer started CPR while another daycare worker called 911.

Warr Acres police released the 911 calls to FOX 25:

  • Dispatcher: 911?
  • Daycare worker: "We have a home daycare. One of our babies just got dropped off. We went to lay him down and he started making this weird breathing sound. Now he's, like, not really breathing."
Liam was taken to a hospital where he remains. His condition is unknown at this time.

According to the Department of Human Services, Knipfer's daycare license was revoked on Dec. 18, 2018.

A DHS inspection report online shows a lengthy list of violations at the daycare including unsafe sleeping surfaces, falsified safety records and hiring caregivers without a proper background check.

The same report shows other incidents dating back to July 2018. In the report, it states a 19-month-old child was swaddled with a fleece blanket covering the child's entire body, head, and face.

Handing your kids over to be watched by a place that shouldn't even be an operation and has a slew of charges against the provider for violation of safety and protocols.

Two people are facing charges after a 5-month-old child died earlier this year from injuries sustained at a Warr Acres in-home daycare, police say.

On February 21, Warr Acres police were called to Kelly’s Kids, which was operated and owned by Kelly Knipfer, in reference to an unresponsive child.

The child was taken to the hospital that day but died on February 27 “as a result of injuries sustained in this home,” according to Warr Acres police.

An autopsy report from the Oklahoma State Medical Examiner’s Office states that the 5-month-old child died from “abusive head trauma,” and his manner of death was listed as homicide.

An investigation was launched and charges were filed against Knipfer and Ethan Lee. They were both taken into custody on Tuesday at their residence.

Knipfer is charged with first-degree murder, failure to report abuse or neglect of a child under 18.

Lee has been charged with child abuse, possession of child pornography.
