A woman and two men were arrested Saturday in connection with the sexual assault of her three-year-old daughter in the southern Indian state of Tamil Nadu. The child was sexually assaulted for 10 days with the consent of the woman.
The woman and her child went missing March 14 and two days later, the woman’s husband filed a missing report at the police station. The police then contacted the woman’s parents and found out that the two hadn’t reached her parents' home.
The woman and her daughter returned home March 26 and two days later the girl fell ill and was admitted to a government hospital.
“After examining the child, the doctor found that the girl was sexually abused and informed the police,” a police officer told local daily the Times of India.
During police interrogation, the woman, confessed that she had gone to another state to meet her boyfriend along with another relative. The two men sexually assaulted the girl with her consent.

The woman and the two men were arrested under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POSCO) act and remained in custody.
