Sentenced: 2-year-old Chevy Catalano Was Struggling To Stay Alive

A Fort Myers man was sentenced to life in prison for second-degree murder and aggravated child abuse.

Damien Palmer killed 2-year-old Chevy Catalano in June 2017.

Deputies were called to a North Fort Myers home and found the 2-year-old struggling to stay alive.

Ten days after being hurt, Catalano died.

Documents from Lee County Sheriff's Office said in addition to the critical head trauma, the child suffered injuries and bruises to other parts of the body

Doctors told deputies that the injuries weren't standard childhood injuries and reported they suspected child abuse.
