"On Friday, Wayne County Prosecutor Kym Worthy, with the assistance of the Fair Michigan Justice Project formally charged 28-year-old Anthony Brock, and 30-year-old Darnell Wilson with a series of crimes in the killing of Diano Johnson, also from Detroit, local news station WXYZ Detroit reported.

The justice project is a coalition of legal experts, former prosecutor and community leaders that help Michigan law enforcement officials in solving serious crimes against LGBTQ individuals.

Prosecutors said that the charges include first-degree murder, felony murder, armed robbery, carjacking, unlawful imprisonment, felon in possession of a firearm, and six counts use of firearm in the commission of a felony. Brock also got a separate charge for arson.

Authorities say that on June 19, Brock planned to meet the victim, after the two connected on Facebook. Police said he locked Johnson in the trunk of his car, and then drove to pick up Wilson.

The two drove to a location on the city’s east side and later dragged the victim out of the car, when they shot him multiple times, according to prosecutors.

On the following day they set the car on fire.

Detroit police officers discovered Johnson’s body on June 21. An investigation led to the arrest of Brock on June 25, 2019, and Wilson on July 12."
