A 17-year-old mother will stand trial after medical staff noticed that her 2-month-old daughter had suffered broken bones and brain hemorrhages.

Arianna Stout took her daughter to Children’s Hospital & Medical Center on Nov. 11 when she saw the girl had a swollen leg and a bruised cheek, according to court records.

The girl was admitted into the neonatal intensive care unit because an examination revealed the baby had “numerous bone fractures, retinal hemorrhages and brain hemorrhages,” according to an affidavit.

Stout told officials she “tossed” the baby on a couch and picked her up by her wrists, the affidavit says. She also admitted that she waited to seek medical attention after she noticed injuries, according to the affidavit.

Stout and the baby’s father both attend Blackburn High School, authorities said. The father has not been charged, but the baby has been named a ward of the state pending a court case involving a neglected juvenile.

The baby, now 3 months old, is no longer a patient at Children’s, a hospital spokeswoman said.

Terminate her and teen father's parental rights. There are thousands of people who would love to adopt a baby and would be good to one.

WTF? Did she think she was playing ball? Tossing a baby is never a good thing you young ass bitch.

An Omaha teenager charged with intentional child abuse resulting in injuries to a 2-month-old daughter in 2018 has since had her case transferred to juvenile court and relinquished her parental rights, according to Douglas County Court records.

Arianna Stout, now 18, had been charged as an adult on Nov. 28, 2018. Her case was transferred to juvenile court on Feb. 12 of this year. A judge placed her on indefinite probation starting March 28.

Stout and the father of the child, Essie Fuller, 19, "voluntarily relinquished" their parental rights on June 12, according to online court records. The child then was placed with the Nebraska Department of Health and Human Services.

not familiar with the term "indefinite probation" what does it really mean? and again from this article it is unknown what must or must not be done while on probation. hopefully one condition of probation would be NOT TO GET PREGNANT while on probation, but i guess i must be dreaming if color if i expect that to ever be a condition

Indefinite probation means you're placed on probation until you satisfy the conditions, e.g. no drug use, community service, things like that. It usually doesn't exceed the maximum sentence time.

Since the case was handled in the juvenile court her probation will only last until she is legally an adult.

The indefinite probation seems more words than anything else.

At least they did the right thing and surrendered their rights to baby.
