I just figured out today this was in Middletucky. That area was quickly going downhill when I left Ohio.
Wasn't too bad when I was there a few years ago, but my friends truck had been broken into 4 times. I don't remember the time spacing, but seemed like every time she got her window replaced, a week later it was broken again. I might be exaggerating.

Warren County prosecutors filed notice that they intend to have about 25 items tested for DNA at the Ohio Bureau of Criminal Investigation and that testing could consume the entire sample in some cases, meaning there would be nothing to test from any other lab if needed in the future.

Defense attorneys Melynda Cook and Scott Rubenstein objected, arguing they must preserve the right to conduct additional testing or assure no human error occurred.

Items where testing may consume the entire DNA sample are two shoes, a gun, two magazines with live rounds, a grey shirt, fingernail scrapings, and swaps from the SUV, according to court records.

Kristen Slaper, DNA lab supervisor, testified that in some of the samples half of the material could be used, but a few were too tiny. She said while the actual sample would be consumed, liquid extract taken from that sample would be maintained and could be tested by another lab.

Slaper said without any DNA testing it is impossible to determine what is in the sample, whether it be favorable to the defendant or not.

Cook asked Judge Robert Peeler to allow an independent observer or a video camera to observe the testing.

“This is one of the most serious crimes we have in this state with the most serious consequence that exists,” Cook said.

Peeler said he would take the matter under advisement and issue a written statement.

Froman is charged with murder that includes aggravating circumstance, kidnapping, burglary and tampering with physical evidence in Kentucky. He will likely face the death penalty in that commonwealth also, according to David Hargrove, commonwealth attorney in Graves County, Ky.
