Sentenced: DOTM Mug Alert - Child Severely Beaten By Mother’s Boyfriend

The Hartselle Police Department has arrested a man they say severely beat his girlfriend’s 5-year-old child.

Ryan Craig Rezek, 29, has been charged with aggravated child abuse after officers responded to a welfare check request from a caller.

When officers arrived at the residence, they spoke with Rezek and the child. Officers determined the child had been severely beaten. Rezek was detained and investigators were notified.

Investigators arrived and determined the child had sustained serious physical injuries by Rezek. The child was transported to the hospital and is currently being treated for the injuries. Rezek was arrested for Aggravated Child Abuse then transported to the Morgan County Jail and given a $10,000.00 bond. After reviewing the case, Judge Waters changed the bond to a no bond.
