According to The New York Post, 53-year-old Daniel D’Angelo was taken into custody on Sunday after a child woke up to find a shirtless man lying on top of her.

A report from WFTX states that the child told authorities that D’Angelo was touching her leg and putting his finger inside her ear when her father entered the bedroom.

The girl's father immediately grabbed the suspect, and a struggle broke out, per the station.

The father took two photos of D’Angelo, with the first showing the suspect lying in the bed while pulling his jeans back up, and the second of the suspect leaving the room, per WFTX. Both images were handed over to the Charlotte County Sheriff's Office (CCSO).

Authorities responded to the scene after a 911 call was placed at 11 p.m., WINK reported. After arriving, D'Angelo told law enforcement that he was set up, per the outlet. He was arrested, according to the reports.

During an investigation, deputies determined that D’Angelo was a sex offender who had failed to register after moving earlier in the month.

I know times are hard but letting a grown ass man move into your home when you have young children is so reckless.

Also the man was a resisted sex offender so if the father searched his name he would have found that information on line.
