Sahara Williams was sentenced Wednesday to at least 22 years in prison for second-degree sexual assault of a child and child abuse.
According to Lincoln police, investigators first learned of the sexual assault case when the mother of three girls flagged down an officer in the street in May 2023.
After interviewing one of the girls, investigators said the girl alleged Maurice Thomas had asked her to kiss him, and he threatened to shoot her if she did not. The assaults escalated from there.
Another girl told investigators she showered with Williams, who was 19 years old at the time.
According to court records, Williams later told police she showered with the girls to "ensure their cleanliness."
Williams told police she watched the children with Thomas, who allegedly would lock the door while he was in a bedroom with the girls. Williams said she had to knock and yell for 10-15 minutes before Thomas would open the door.
According to court documents, Williams will also have to register as a sex offender.
Thomas was previously sentenced to 205 to 252 years in prison.
