Georgia Man & Son Arrested For Sexually Abusing Girl Since 2014

A Gainesville man and his son remain in the Hall County Jail without bond on charges related to the sexual assault of a young girl.


The Hall County Sheriff’s Office said that Raymundo Castillo, 60, was taken into custody on one felony count of child molestation. Meanwhile Edgar Jovanny Razo, 30, was arrested on two counts of child molestation and three counts of sexual battery on a child under the age of 16. All of Razo’s charges are felony crimes.

An initial investigation into the case revealed that the two men were allegedly involved in sexual abuse against the victim beginning in 2014. HCSO officials said no evidence indicated Castillo and Razo committed the crimes together. The victim and suspects were known to each other.

The victim reportedly told a teacher at her school about the abuse which led the teacher to make a report to law enforcement.

Edgar Jovanny Razo, age 26, pleaded guilty on Monday, Mar. 9, to four counts of child molestation for crimes against a girl under the age of 16 that took place from 2021 to 2022. Northeastern Judicial Circuit District Attorney Lee Darragh issued a statement regarding the case Monday afternoon.

"Law enforcement discovered the abuse when one of the three victims in this case wrote an essay for a school project discussing being touched by (Razo,)" Darragh said. "The first victim made an outcry as to being touched as well as (Raz0) masturbating in front of her."

Razo was arrested in May of 2025, along with his father, Raymundo Castillo.

Razo was sentenced by Lindsay H. Burton to 40 years, with the first 20 to be spent in prison.
