Paul S. Park, has been taken in custody in connection to a woman's body that was found Monday night that was shot and left for dead.
Alyssa Lokits, 34, was found on the Mill Creek Greenway off of Old Hickory Boulevard around 5:30 p.m. Witnesses claim to have heard a woman screaming, “Help! He’s trying to rape me," followed by gunfire. Some witnesses also claim to have seen a possibly Asian man on top of Lokits before hearing the gunshots.
According to an MNPD investigation, Lokits went for a walk by the area of the greenway when Park stepped out from between two parked cars and began following her. A park surveillance camera was unable to capture the incident, but did catch Park returning to his gray car with "scratches on his arms and blood on his clothing."
That same night, a witness who's a local to the area provided police with more video footage recorded on his car's dashcam that was parked at the greenway trailhead. The dashcam caught clear images of Park as well as his car. Another witness gave part of Park's license plate number.
