Sentenced: North Carolina Woman Poured Texas Pete Hot Sauce In Son’s Mouth

A Garner woman was arrested and charged with child abuse in connection to a July incident where her 5-year-old son had Texas Pete Hot Sauce poured in his mouth, according to arrest warrants.

Wake County arrest warrants said that on July 30, 28-year-old Meridith Stewart assaulted her son which resulted in serious injury causing dark bruising on the back of his legs, butt and lower back. Documents also said that the boy also had hot sauce poured into his mouth.

• Felony negligent child abuse resulting in serious bodily injury,
• 4 counts of contributing to the delinquency of a minor,
• and 4 counts of child abuse.
