81 year-old Prince Raymond King has been a busy boy over the past decade. He's been terrorizing his neighborhood by shooting ball bearings with a slingshot. King, of Asuza, CA, was arrested earlier this month after police carried out a search warrant in his neighborhood. They found an unspecified number of ball bearings and a slingshot and nailed him.

King broke windows and windshields, but miraculously, no one was injured, although it seems that there were a number of near misses.

This grumpy old man is current cooling his heels in Men’s Central Jail in Los Angeles with no bail, no slingshots, and no ball bearings.

I thought that the guy was genuinely going to have two royal titles, but no. His parents, I presume, named him Prince when they already had the name King. So, Prince Raymond King is the curmudgeon's name. He is just named that, and is not actually royal. The name has Doctor Willard Bliss vibes.

That is the doctor who treated President James Garfield's bullet wound in 1881, ultimately unsuccessfully. Thing is, though, before he was ever an actual doctor, he was still called Doctor, because... Doctor was literally his first name. Did anyone who knew this guy refer to him as Dr. Doctor? Maybe, maybe not, but Pink Floyd referred to someone as "Dr. Doctor", or "Doctor Doctor", or "doctor, doctor" in one of their Syd Barrett-era songs.



I'm glad it's "doctor doctor" and not "doctor proctor", which would imply that the narrator is pushing up the... ante regarding the specificity of the doctor's practice.
