Sentenced: 'Monster' Cut Wife's Body Into Over 200 Pieces

The body of Holly Bramley was found in the River Witham in March 2023, she was cut into more than 200 pieces.

Her husband Nicholas Metson, 28, admitted to her murder but did not give a reason why. He has previous convictions for offences against former partners in 2013, 2016 and 2017.

Prosecutor Gordon Aspden KC told the judge Lincolnshire Police were called to the couple's flat on 24 March 2023 because of a concern for Ms Bramley's welfare.

Officers visited the home the following day and noticed a strong smell of ammonia and bleach, bloodstained sheets in the bathtub and a towel on the kitchen floor.

There was evidence of recent redecoration and cleaning. The police also spotted a number of large dark stains on the floor in the main bedroom, which later turned out to be Holly's blood, Mr Aspden said.

Metson told officers his wife had been abusive to him, showing them a bite mark on his forearm, and she had left home with a local mental health support group on 19 March.

After murdering his wife, Metson withdrew £50 from her bank account and searched on the internet with questions such as "What benefits do I get if my wife has died" and "Can someone haunt me after they die".

HELLO! Buddy tortured *three* animals to death, with the purposeful intent of hurting you, without an inch of remorse.... and you stay?

Regardless of how much she knew of his past (maybe she didn't know about his prior convictions)...

...he clearly showed her (1) the level of violence he's capable of, and (2) just how easy it is for him to engage in depraved violence as a way to punish/hurt someone he "loves".

I don't want to victim-blame, but this woman had such a destructively low level of self-respect that she enabled this man, alllll the way through to the end.

The only good thing about this is that there were no kids to shove in a washing machine, or microwave oven. Think he would have been above that?

A man who murdered his wife and tried to hide her body has been jailed for life.

Nicholas Metson of Shuttleworth House in Lincoln had previously denied killing Holly Bramley (latterly Metson) after her body was discovered in Bassingham in early 2023.

But the 28-year-old pleaded guilty to the offence when he appeared before court officials on Friday, 23 February 2024.

Metson was sentenced today, Monday, 8 April at Lincoln Crown Court. He was handed a minimum term of 19 years and 316 days.

His friend Joshua Hancock, 29, of Walnut Close in Waddington pleaded guilty to disposal of a body with the intention to obstruct or prevent at coroner’s inquest at the same hearing. He was also sentenced today to three years and three months in prison for that offence and other offences.*

So how is a "life sentence" for a 28 year old man only 19 years? This math ain't mathing, or should I say this maths isn't mathsing? Will he receive multiple ponies upon his release in seven months?

Plus, it's UK prison. Dude only got 19 years for the murder and brunoise of his wife.

A self-defense killing of someone who terrorized you and slaughtered your pets would be what, 4 years and a pony upon release?
