An Albuquerque man is accused of raping a 7-year-old autistic relative and being paid by several other men who also raped the girl over the past few months.

Richard Abeyta, 65, is charged with human trafficking, false imprisonment and two counts of rape of a child under 13.
Police say the child told them Abeyta advertised her over Facebook Live and let several other men rape her at his and other houses around the city. Relatives told police the girl has frequent nightmares, outbursts of anger and possible post-traumatic stress disorder after the ordeal.
Abeyta was arrested on Friday after the Albuquerque Police Department SWAT team used flashbangs to force him out of his home, following a four-hour standoff, according to court records. A detective "offered to hear his side of the story," but Abeyta said he didn't want to talk.
It's unclear if the other men who allegedly raped the girl have been identified or charged, and a police spokesman did not respond to questions on the matter.
Prosecutors filed a motion to detain Abeyta until trial, calling him "extremely dangerous."

"The strong inference is that (Abeyta) is no stranger to dealing with human trafficking," according to the motion.

Court records show that Abeyta and his wife gained custody of the girl when she was born, due to her mother — who has lost custody of several children — being in prison. The New Mexico Children, Youth and Families Department also placed one of the mother's other children with Abeyta after the boy was found in a drug house.

Abeyta's wife filed for divorce months ago and, in July, filed a restraining order against him after the rape allegations surfaced, according to court records.
On July 12, police were called to investigate those allegations, according to a criminal complaint filed in Metropolitan Court. Abeyta's wife told police she was recovering from neck surgery between June 16 and July 10 while the girl stayed with Abeyta.

Police said the wife told them the girl said Abeyta raped her at least six times and was paid by other men who then raped her at various houses and "an unknown hotel." The wife said Abeyta threatened to kill herself and the girl to keep her quiet.

During a safehouse interview , the child said that Abeyta had forcefully penetrated her painfully with with his penis, and would not stop when asked. She said this happened more than once, the document said.
During a medical interview on Jul7 27, the child said that other men had done had also forcefully penetrated her, digitally and with their genitals, the document said.
Abeyta's former wife told police that Abeyta had advertised the child online as a "sex worker," and the men who also abused her had paid Abeyta for it. The child told her that she had been taken to two other residences and a hotel. The former wife said that some of this activity was recorded and saved on Abeyta's computer, the document said.
