It was previously reported that Riona -- the Memphis rescue dog who was set on fire -- made it into the finals for Cadbury Chocolate’s 2023 Easter Bunny Search.
Unfortunately, this was an error due an accidental opening to all candidates in Cadbury’s website.
While Riona is not a finalist, Tails of Hope Dog Rescue (TOH) encourages the public to continue to vote for Riona, if the website allows, should Cadbury honor a pet that is not a Top 10 Finalist in some way.
Cadbury says they have seen the large number of votes for Riona has generated due to her following.
Voting will close at 10:59 PM CT on March 14, 2023.
This meat sack needs to be locked up for a very long time. He’s already displayed sociopathic tendencies and will escalate if given the chance. Oh, and castrate him. That will help refocus his priorities.![]()

Final Update 3/05/2024: Victory! On March 4, Quishon Brown was ordered not to have an animal in perpetuity, ordered to pay court costs, and ordered to pay $1,000 to Tails of Hope.
These fines and restrictions are part of a plea deal that was offered because Brown had already served one third of a two-year prison sentence and he had to be released if a third of his time was served without incident.
Animal Victory sent over 40,000 signatures to the District Attorney and In Defense of Animals sent over 15,000 signatures. District Attorney Steve Mulroy and Assistant District Attorney Donna Fields diligently worked to keep this case from being dismissed and we applaud their efforts.
Though Brown received a deal to reduce his prison time, his atrocious behavior will ensure that he spends more time behind bars. He has recently been arrested for the alleged rape of a minor family relative and could spend 25 years in prison if he receives the maximum penalty.
Families from across the globe contacted Tails of Hope about adopting the dog. In 2023, about a year after she was burned, Riona found her "forever home," and was adopted by a family that requested anonymity but was located about "a 10-hour drive from Memphis," Natoli said.
"I do have a picture of her in her new home wearing little pajamas with hearts on them that say 'I Love My Mom,'" Fields said. "She's doing great."
For anyone that knows about Riona, the dog set on fire by her owner in Memphis TN, Rubi was also in that very same home. Riona suffered a horrific act of cruelty. Please remember that Rubi was there when it happened and saw everything.
Rubi was very scared when we first got her but has made leaps in her trust of people! She truly wants human love and affection. She loves other dogs and is an absolute sweetheart once she warms up to you!
Rubi loves her foster family, their grandkids, and her life on their farm! Due to her history, she will remain in the rescue in order for us to continue to support her and her foster family in the ways she needs.
She is a very happy, healthy girl who loves to hang out with her puppy friends and steal kisses!
