Spencer Pearson ex-girlfriend, Madison Schemitz, 17, is now paralyzed. He stabbed her 15 times before (I'll bet) making a half-assed attempt to cut his own throat. He also stabbed Madison's mother, Jacki Roge, and injured two Good Samaritans who tried to intervene. This all went down at Mr. Chubby's Wings.

Schemitz had broken up with Pearson a couple of months ago. They had been classmates at Ponte Vedra High School where she played softball and he played football.

The arrest warrant said Pearson began to follow and harass Schemitz in April. On Saturday, Schemitz and her mother met some friends at Mr. Chubby's Wings and saw Pearson seated at another table.

“He was threatening her safety," said Tatiana Cruceta, Schemitz's oldest sister. "My mother was looking to get a restraining order against him so this was definitely premeditated. This was definitely something that he had planned.”

As the family headed to their vehicle, Pearson was seen charging toward them.

One of the victims told investigators Pearson held Schemitz with one arm and stabbed her about 15 times. As her mother tried to stop him, she was stabbed in the forearm and leg.

A bystander who tried to get Pearson off Schemitz was also stabbed.

That's when Pearson sliced his own throat, telling witnesses he was trying to kill himself, according to the arrest warrant (why didn't the witnesses let him?).

Cruceta told First Coast News that although Schemitz couldn't feel her legs due to spinal wounds, the family is confident she will recover (the article now states that Madison is paralyzed).

Their mother suffered some cuts to the face, forearm, hand and thigh but is recovering.

No word on the would-be killer's condition. He was probably fine once he put a band aid on his neck.

The Florida man who stabbed his ex-girlfriend and her mother last summer will spend the remainder of his life behind bars.
Spencer Ross Pearson was sentenced to life in prison during a Friday, Nov. 22 sentencing hearing, according to a press release from the St. Johns County Sheriff's Office (SJSO). The sentencing comes after Pearson pleaded guilty to two counts of attempted first-degree murder with a weapon and aggravated battery causing serious bodily injury with a weapon in July.

Pearson was first arrested after stabbing three victims outside a Ponte Vedra Beach, Fla., restaurant on June 3, 2023. He was 18 at the time.
One of the victims was Pearson’s ex-girlfriend, Madison Schemitz. It was later revealed that he had been stalking and harassing the then-17-year-old prior to the attack.
Schemitz’s mother, Jaclyn "Jacki" Roge, was also stabbed by Pearson while attempting to protect her daughter, along with a third victim, Kennedy Armstrong.

Armstong received serious hand injuries after he intervened and incapacitated Pearson until police arrived, but not before the attacker slit his own throat in a suicide attempt, authorities said.
Pearson allegedly assaulted Schemitz from behind, held her down and proceeded to stab her approximately 15 times, authorities said following the attack. The traumatic injuries suffered by the teen, who was a star softball player at Ponte Vedra High School, left her paralyzed from the chest down.

Schemitz, who is now a freshman in college, underwent intensive physical therapy and was able to walk across the stage to receive her high school diploma less than a year after she was attacked, according to the SJSO.
