A mother and father have been arrested on murder charges in connection to the 2018 death of their 4-week-old baby, Harrisburg police said.

Corey D. Robbins, 26, of York Haven, and Breanna Witten, 25, of Harrisburg, were taken into custody this week on charges of murder and recklessly endangering the welfare of a child, police said.
Police said the investigation into the death of the couple’s son has been ongoing since November 2018. An affidavit of probable cause alleged the following:
Robbins and Witten took their son, identified in court documents only as “J.R.,” to Penn State Holy Spirit Hospital around 11:45 a.m. Nov. 5, 2018. Surveillance footage showed their car circling the parking lot for two minutes before Robbins and Witten “casually” carried their son’s car seat into the hospital, the affidavit said.

Court documents said hospital medical staff immediately jumped into action to try to save the boy’s life. Robbins and Witten did not show any emotion during this time, or after they found out their son was dead, according to the affidavit.
At first, Robbins and Witten told investigators they found their son unresponsive that morning on his back in his bassinet. But after two interviews with police, the affidavit said Robbins called investigators and admitted to telling them a story he and Witten made up at the hospital.
The Dauphin County Coroner’s Office said the baby died of complications of asphyxia. The manner of death at first was ruled undetermined, then changed to homicide.

Court documents said J.R.’s injuries were consistent with someone pressing down on his head. He also had hemorrhages in his heart, lungs and liver. Authorities estimated the injuries were inflicted two to four hours before the baby was taken to the hospital.

“J.R. was being compressed and was unable to breath,” police wrote in the affidavit.

The baby’s liver also showed a previous injury that was in the process of healing when he died, according to the affidavit.

I cannot understand what thought process allows a person, especially the egg donor in this case, to look at the sweet baby she JUST gave birth to a month ago and do this? I really hope and pray the new baby was removed at birth and placed in foster care until the egg and sperm donors rights can be terminated and this sweet baby can be adopted into a loving family that wouldn't dream of harming a hair on the baby's head.

Is this maybe a co sleeping thing? The way it's described is like he was smudged. And since it was morning at the hospital im going to guess co sleeping suffocation. Maybe one or both were intoxicated and that's why murder charges?

Let alone the fact they leisurely strolled into hospital carrying in all but dead baby like they didn’t have a care in the world. Nor did they give two shits when informed he was dead.
So I’m going to go with a not on the co sleeping.

Well pressed down on his head, and hemorrhages in the organs could also come from being crushed under an adults weight. Since it was 1145 am and they thought hours had passed thats around 7am. So I thought maybe one or both of them suffocated him while sleeping.

I did miss the part about previous injury though so you're probably right.

Sometimes I read these stories and I just wish it could be at least an accident instead of so many fucking people acting like babies are disposable once they're inconvenient.
