Michelle Varga and Cameron McMahon, of Ohio, have been convicted of felony animal cruelty.
One member of the couple brought the dog, named June to a shelter stating she was a stray.
It was determined that the person who brought June to the shelter was her actual owner.
June has since recovered thanks to her dedicated foster mom.
