A husband and wife have been ordered to stand trial in connection with the death of their infant son.

Teaya Annmarie Johnson and Kaam Duane Stricklin, both 28, of Lansing, allowed 2-month-old Kameo Stricklin to "literally starve to death," a Lansing police detective testified in a hearing that led to criminal charges being filed against the couple.

Judge Frank DeLuca conducted a preliminary hearing Thursday and found enough evidence for the couple to stand trial on a manslaughter charge.

Kameo and his twin brother were born six weeks premature in September 2016 and were released to their parents three weeks later, police said.

Johnson and Stricklin were given medicine to help the boys keep food down, because both infants were having problems with acid reflux, police said.

Six weeks later, the couple didn't call 911 after Johnson found Kameo unresponsive in his bed and instead "showed up at the hospital with a dead baby," Lansing Police Detective Tracy Jones testified in the earlier hearing.

The parents later told police the children vomited after most feedings, but the parents failed to get more acid reflux medicine or seek medical care for their children, police said.

When Jones viewed Kameo's body at the hospital he "immediately noticed that this child was malnourished," the detective said. "This child did not appear to be two months old at all. He was literally skin and bone."

An autopsy determined Kameo died of severe malnutrition and starvation.

"He was literally starved to death," the detective said.

Wow ... they both look mad, I bet they hate each other. And i bet it came down to
some stupid ... Feed the baby ... no you feed the baby, I didn't ask you to have this baby, kind of fight. This is happening to much for it to be anything else except a tantrum with really high human stakes.

wow ... they rejected the pleas deal for involuntary manslaughter ... haha !
I don't think there was anything in-voluntary about it ... i still think they just hated each
other and hated the baby they made and that neither one of them wanted to take care of it.

Christ, you can already see the wasting in that picture. I brought my twins home from the NICU after 2 and 3 weeks of "feed and grow." (3lbs 12 oz and 2 lbs 15 ozs at birth) They had more fat on them when they came home than this picture, and they were only 4 lbs each. NICU babies can be tough to care for as they need constant feedings and twins can make you so sleep deprived you're delirious. But you manage and make it work. Neither of these assholes look like they ever missed a meal.
