The father of a two-year-old Marion girl who died this week partly from a flash burn is demanding answers.

Marion Police found Arianna Carmack unresponsive in her mother’s mobile home Wednesday night.

According to an autopsy report, she suffered a flash burn from an unknown chemical and had burns on her head, chest and back. The coroner ruled that was only a factor in her death. The baby girl also sustained multiple contusions on her body that appeared to be healing.

Her mother’s boyfriend, 27-year-old Donald Riddle, was babysitting the girl at the time of her death. He was arrested and charged with neglect of a dependent resulting in death.

“She was just the sweetest little girl ever,â€￾ said Arianna’s father, Steve Carmack. (I’m) just hurt. Destroyed.â€￾

Carmack lives in the same mobile home park as his daughter and is angry that he wasn’t allowed to watch her. He blames a family feud.

He said Arianna’s grandfather also tried to visit the little girl this weekend, but was turned away.

“My dad went to go see her the other day and she told him that she was sick,â€￾ said Carmack. “That he couldn’t have her. And that’s the last time we heard anything.â€￾

Fox59 asked Carmack if he had ever met Riddle, and he replied he had not. He said he has heard things about the man but did not wish to elaborate.

Carmack said he believes Arianna would still be alive and well if she had been in his care.

“I’m right down the road and I could’ve watched her,â€￾ he said. “As a father, you don’t wish that upon any kid, you know? And for that to happen to your own, it’s kind of horrible.â€￾

Fox59 tried to speak with Arianna’s mother, but no one answered the door at the home.

I was thinking the same thing. This just makes me so sad. Mom left the child with her new penis even after he obviously had been abusing her and he goes to far and finally kills the poor baby. Dad was right down the street and it appears grandpa was also willing, yet she is a selfish bitch who rather leave her baby with a beater than to suck it up and call the dad's family. She wanted to hurt the father and his family and fucking bitch succeeded to the ultimate degree. Was it worth it you cunt? Was it worth it to "hurt" the baby daddy like this? I hope to God she gets charged too because the fact that she hid the child shows she knew the abuse was going on. Fuck this pisses me off. How do you let your butt hurt pride put your child in danger rather then turning to the person who should help you, the father.

A judge has sentenced a northeastern Indiana man to 56 and 1/2 years in prison following his conviction on several charges connected to the death of a toddler who was in his care.

I'm so glad they charged the mother too ... stops that you killed my baby bullshit right away, because when it comes right down to it she killed her baby by letting this asshole around her child at all.

MARION, Ind. (www.incnow.tv) -- Court documents reveal shocking details of neglect in the death of a two-year old Marion girl.

We need to warn you that this story may be highly disturbing for more sensitive readers.

Two-year old Arianna Carmack's mother found her dead in her crib last week.

The mother's friend, 27-year old Donald Riddle, lived in their mobile home and took care of Arianna and her older brother and sister while the mom worked second shift as an assistant manager at Taco Bell.

Court documents say the mother came home and left several times February 13th, slept, ordered and ate pizza with Riddle and showered... all while never checking on her daughter.

The detective quoted her as saying Riddle repeatedly told her that he already checked on Arianna and that she was asleep.

But when the mom went into the bedroom late that night, and pulled back the blanket covering Arianna's whole body and face, she said the girl's face was so red, she thought it was covered in blood, and she was stiff and not breathing.

The detective said Riddle never called 911 like the mother asked, even though he put his phone up to his ear.

He was gone by the time the mother ran back inside after getting a neighbor to help.

In the court documents, detectives say Riddle told them he never checked on Arianna from the time she went to sleep the night before until she was found even though he said he was her primary care giver.

Riddle also reportedly couldn't answer why he didn't check on Arianna or feed her during that time.

Court documents also say Arianna had no skin on her face, chest and back and burn doctors said that the burns were 24- to 48-hours old.

They also said it looked like her shirt caught fire during a flash burn and that the shirt wasn't taken off quickly enough.

The doctors added that Arianna would not have died if she had received medical attention and that she would have been in extreme pain and distress during that time.
