OMG that picture is heartbreaking! Jesse was tortured. He suffered. And his mother never cared. She is just as much of a piece of shit as the fuckwad that killed him is.
What is it with potty training leading to murder? It is so senseless and stupid, to get so angry over something natural. My 4yo still has occasional accidents, usually when he is playing and is having too much fun to stop whatever it is that he is doing to go to the toilet. I am guilty of ranting about it, because after 2 yrs of being toilet trained, he knows better. But, I don't hurt him! What good would that do? We clean up, and move on. WTF!

That photo is tragic. I'm glad they left the casket open, so people could see for themselves what that poor little guy went through and know beyond a doubt that it was no accident, but I'm amazed they did.

Enveloped with divine love...bringing comfort peaceful, relief from the woes of this world...
upon heavy shoulders, forlorn, blissful solace...all fears released. . .
All anguish vanquished....
In the arms of an angel.
Rest in peace littlest Jesse.

As her trial for injury to a child was about to get under way in a Denton County courtroom Monday, Sharon Worthy pleaded guilty and was sentenced to 10 years in prison for failing to protect her 3-year-old son, who died from injuries inflicted by her boyfriend.
[...]

Jamie Beck, first assistant district attorney, said Worthy pleaded guilty to injury to a child by omission, a second-degree felony that carried a two- to 20-year prison term. Beck said Worthy must serve a quarter of her sentence before being eligible for parole, not counting any good time credits.
[...]

Worthy was not charged with murder due to her absence during the deadly incident.

However, the arrest affidavit states she witnessed an earlier incident where Copeland allegedly violently pushed the child in the back, causing him to hit the floor face first.

Worthy did not report that to the police and did not seek medical attention for the child.

Authorities also said Child Protective Services had warned Worthy not to leave her children unattended with Copeland, who was on parole for a violent crime conviction.

Worthy relinquished her rights to her surviving sons, have been adopted.

Ten years, of which she must serve a quarter, which is pretty much 2.5 years. She's probably already there if they give her time served. I'm not satisfied. I hope the family isn't, either. It's horrible. I poop on this sentence.
