Alizandra Jasso's Crime

At only three-years-old Alizandra Jasso did the unspeakable crime of having an accident in her pants.

The only punishment that such a crime could warrant was Alizandra being slammed against a toilet knocking her unconscious, then slammed into the shower door and onto the floor by her mother's boyfriend, Nicholas Grijalva. After such brutality he threw her on the bed and said “she was going to die.” He then cleaned the blood off her face and took her clothes off her before calling paramedics,

Her mother, Jaclyn Legarda told police she heard Alizandra say "no daddy no" before she was rendered unconscious. She did what any good mother would do in this situation and initially agreed to lie and day the child fell.

Alizandra died a few days later in an El Paso hospital.

Grijalva was sentenced to life in prison with the possibility for parole in 30 years.

Legarda was sentenced to 10 years and will spend at least 85 percent of her sentence, or 8 1/2 years, in prison.

So…when Lagarda gets out she will still have many more years of fertility in her. We know that the following will never happen, but why can’t we offer these offenders a choice: get out during your child bearing years but you’ll get a goodbye hysterectomy before we open the doors to your cell, OR you can serve a sentence that ends when you hit menopause.

This tragedy occurred in practically my back yard. I had been following it and planned to post it here but every time I read about it, I got so pissed off and horrified that I shut my mind down and forced myself to get distracted.

Hey Everybody!! Especially Current and future parents/Caretakers/Day Care Workers/Occasional Babysitters: I'm going to need your undivided attention!! Listen Up: The One thing you don't do... is murder the child!! You can do anything else in the world... If you get angry or upset, go take a walk.. even, at worst, you leave the child alone for a few Critical minutes while you can blow off steam, then return util you "Haven't Murdered the Child!!"
