A Summit County jury convicted an Akron man of multiple charges for the 2019 rape of an 11-year-old child.

Robin Stevens Jr., 39, was found guilty of rape, attempted rape, and two counts of gross sexual imposition, according to Summit County Prosecutor Sherri Bevan Walsh. He is being held in the Summit County Jail without bond.

According to the prosecutor’s office, the victim was spending the night a relative’s home in June 2019 and woke up to the assault by Stevens. The victim immediately told a relative what happened and was taken to Akron Children’s Hospital.
 
An Akron man convicted of raping an 11-year-old girl that he knew was sentenced to prison on Monday.

Summit County Common Pleas Court Judge Susan Baker Ross sentenced 40-year-old Robin Stevens to life in prison. He is eligible for parole after serving 16 years.
According to county prosecutors, Stevens was also listed as a Tier III sex offender.
