A Kentucky mother led police in a high-speed chase this week after they headed to her house to investigate a child abuse call.

Kentucky State Police said that they received a call Thursday afternoon from a girl who claimed her parent, identified as 32-year-old Brittany A. Kimsey, abused her in their Graves County home, according to WPSD Local 6.

Officers said that they were on their way to the house when troopers were informed that Kimsey fled the home in a car. They located the car at an intersection, and one officer tried to pull it over, but Kimsey sped away, eventually reaching a speed of 100 mph.

Officers said she was driving recklessly as they chased her. At one point, Kimsey drove the car in the wrong direction on U.S. 62 and almost hit the vehicle of trooper forced to make an evasive maneuver.

Kimsey then crashed her car, after which she received medical attention and was arrested, police said.

Kimsey now faces charges of first-degree criminal abuse of a child aged 12 or younger, third-degree terroristic threatening, attempted murder of a police officer, first-degree fleeing or evading police, driving under the influence on the second offense, and multiple traffic violations, among other offenses.

The child has been placed with family.

This sucks. That poor kid is probably going to have unreasonable guilt because she made that call. This stupid cow is cheesing for her mug shot like she’s looking for a new cop boyfriend while her kid is probably crying her eyes out. I hope while the prosecutor is explaining the seriousness of her crimes there is a huge blow up of this photo on an easel as a back drop.

And I hope the girl is with relatives on her father’s side of the family.

It’ll be interesting to find out if she actually abused the kid or just took away a cell phone
I’m betting based on the reaction of the mom the kid was telling the truth. A parent not abusing their kid would’ve said “come on in officer and have a talk with my ungrateful brat.” My neighbors daughter did this once because she was grounded, her mom was shocked when the cops showed up. She explained the situation, the cops (who knew the family) told the daughter to pack a bag as she would be placed in a group home temporarily. Daughter changed her tune real quick, she grew up fine and they laugh about that story now.
