Southern Illinois Man Arrested For Aggravated Battery To 1MO Infant

Illinois State Police have arrested 23-year-old Joseph Matthew Myers, of Freeman Spur, for aggravated battery of a child.

On Monday, ISP Division of Criminal Investigation was requested by the Williamson County Sheriff's Department and Department of Children and Family Services to lead the investigation into serious injuries received by a one-month-old child.

The child had subsequently been taken to a regional hospital with life-threatening injuries.

After a thorough investigation, Myers, the child's father, was taken into custody and charged with aggravated battery of a child.
