A grandfather and his 4-year-old granddaughter were killed in a stabbing Tuesday in a small town southwest of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.

Chickasha police arrived at his home Tuesday night after receiving a 911 call in which the caller hung up, the Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation's PIO told news station KFOR.

"While attempting to make contact at the door, officers could hear someone inside the home calling for help," the OSBI said in a release Wednesday. "Officers forced entry and discovered there were four people injured inside the home."

Leon Pye, 67, and his granddaughter Kaeos Yates, 4, were pronounced dead on the scene, the OSBI said. Pye's wife, Delci, was also found at the scene with non-life-threatening injuries. She was transported to a local hospital and is recovering.

"The fourth person in the home was 42-year-old Lawrence Paul Anderson. He was identified as the person who inflicted the injuries to the Pyes and Yates," the OSBI said.

Anderson, also injured, was taken into custody by Chickasha police before being taken to the hospital.

He remains hospitalized and in custody pending formal charges from the Grady County District Attorney," the OSBI said.

Anderson has been identified as Pye's nephew, KFOR reported.

A convicted felon in Oklahoma who had recently been paroled is now accused of murdering a neighbor, cooking the victim’s heart, and then murdering his uncle and a 4-year-old girl at a home where he had been staying on Feb. 9.

Lawrence Paul Anderson, 42, allegedly admitted that he murdered 41-year-old mother of two Andrea Lynn Blankenship in her home and cut out her heart to cook it and eat it. The Oklahoman, citing a quote from an Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation agent’s search warrant application, described a heinous crime: “He took the heart back to 214 West Minnesota, Chickasha […] He cooked the heart with potatoes to feed to his family to release the demons.”

Anderson had been staying with his aunt Delsie Pye and uncle Leon Pye after he was released from prison on Jan. 18. Anderson is accused of killing murdering his 67-year-old uncle and 4-year-old Kaeos Yates, described as the victim’s granddaughter. Kaeos was reportedly visiting her grandparents. The suspect allegedly stabbed his aunt as well.

When authorities arrived at the scene, Leon Pye was already dead and Yates was gravely injured. She was pronounced soon afterwards in an ambulance. Delsie Pye reportedly suffered injuries to both of her eyes. She has since been released from a hospital. Anderson was allegedly observed “throwing up” into pillows at the scene. It’s unclear at this time if the suspect had been using drugs prior to the killings.

The Blankenship murder wasn’t discovered until two days later. The suspect, while in a hospital, allegedly admitted that he broke into the victim’s home and “cut her heart out.”

Grady County District Attorney Jason Hicks told The Oklahoman that he wants answers as to how convicted felon with a history of violence and drug use managed to be paroled several years early despite repeat offenses and objections from prosecutors. He said the state legislature needs to address this or more lives could be at risk.

Anderson’s repeat incarceration history began in 2006, when he sentenced for possession of crack cocaine and for threatening his girlfriend with a gun. He reportedly served less than two years of a four-year sentence. Six years after he was first sentenced, Anderson was sentenced to 15 years for selling crack near an elementary school. Five years into that sentence in 2017, Anderson was released from prison again, but his sentence also included two decades of probation. According to the report, Anderson quickly violated parole by possessing a gun and using PCP and cocaine; he was imprisoned the same year to serve 20 years.

Prosecutors said Anderson should serve the whole sentence, but Anderson requested a commutation and the Oklahoma Pardon and Parole Board recommended that the sentence be reduced to nine years.

Oklahoma Gov. Kevin Stitt (R) commuted Anderson’s sentence in June 2020 under the belief, his office claimed, that Anderson would be moving out of the state. Per The Oklahoman:
The governor acted after being told Anderson was going to live in Texas with his daughter and work for his son-in-law in the oil field, the interim secretary, Jason Nelson, said. His plans for release were later changed to the home of his uncle and aunt in Chickasha.
In January 2021, Anderson was released after serving over three years in prison. Weeks later, he alleedly killed his uncle, stabbed his aunt, killed a little girl, and brutally murdered a neighbor. Andrea Blankenship’s family said they don’t have any knowledge that their loved one knew her killer.

The one near me has a huge fresh organ section and even sells buckets of blood in various sizes.
fuck all that, that's gross, just saying.

wtf

damn, it does not matter who you are or where you think you live in USA, hopefully you have not had your gun rights pulled, and if you have, figure something else out like a crossbow, just anything.

Ha ha, I just recalled seeing chicken feet at Walmart recently.
You mean Phoenix Talons.
(Too much work for too little meat, imho)
I'm somewhat relieved that I have no idea what to do with buckets of blood.
Filipino pork and blood stew. Very savory. Also blood sausage.
Also slátur (Icelandic blood sausage, cooked in a sheep stomach). Some day I will have a
slátur making party and invite my friends. Good wholesome fun!

"He cooked the heart with potatoes to feed to his family to release the demons,"
Who had the demons? Was the demons in the women's heart and they were going to be released by a serving of murder pot pie? Or, did his family have demons and the only way to save them was to serve them some lovely big golden chips with a nice piece of fried human heart?

btw, the governor is in a bit of shit over this.
The case already has sparked outrage because the repeat felon had been released early from prison in January. He had been sentenced in 2017 to serve 20 years behind bars but got out after Gov. Kevin Stitt commuted his time.

An Oklahoma man who cut out the heart of a woman he murdered before killing two other people, including a child, has been sentenced to life in prison.
Lawrence Paul Anderson, 44, was jailed after pleading guilty to the 2021 murder of Andrea Blankenship, 41, Leon Pye, 67, and Kaeos Yates, four.

Prosecutors say that Anderson killed Blankenship and cut out her heart, before taking it to his aunt and uncle’s house where he cooked it with potatoes. He then tried to serve it to his uncle Leon Pye and aunt Delsie Pye, before killing his uncle and his four-year-old granddaughter.
The shocking attacks came just weeks after Anderson was released from prison as part of a mass commutation effort in the state.

Anderson pleaded guilty to three counts of murder in the first degree, one count of assault and battery with a deadly weapon, and one count of maiming. He received five life sentences, which will be served consecutively.

“There’s evidence in possession of my office as well as the Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation that’s so shocking, after I reviewed it, it kept me up at night for weeks,” said District Attorney Jason Hicks.

“The intent of that agreement is to ensure he never steps outside of the prison. Not only that but to ensure that nobody can ever modify these sentences. That was something that was extremely important to not only my office, but also to the family members of the victims in this case.”

Anderson had been sentenced in 2017 to 20 years in prison for probation violations on a drug case.

Oklahoma’s governor Kevin Stitt commuted the sentence in 2019 to nine years in prison, and Anderson was released after serving a little more than three years behind bars.

“These families have lost pretty much everything. As you can imagine, Delsie Pye lost her husband and one of her grandchildren and was attacked at the same time. And watched both of those people, watched both of them die, watched Lawrence Anderson take their lives,” he added.
