An Orlando waitress saved a young boy from allegedly abusive parents after she noticed he was bruised and wasn't being allowed to eat.

On New Year’s Day, Flavaine Carvalho was working as a waitress at Mrs. Potato Restaurant, when she called police about a possible child abuse case, according to the Orlando Police Department.

She told police that a customer, Timothy Wilson II, 34, did not allow an 11-year-old boy at his table to order anything, and that the child had bruises on his face and arms.

She wrote a note that said "do you need help?" and stood behind the boy’s parents where they couldn’t see.

The boy eventually signaled yes and Carvalho called police. Wilson was arrested on one count of third-degree child abuse.

The boy, revealed to investgators other mistreatment, police said.

Police said the boy told them ratchet straps were tied around his ankles and neck, and he was hung upside down from a door. He said he was hit with a wooden broom, and handcuffed and tied to a large moving dolly.

He also told investigators that he didn’t get to eat on a regular basis as punishment, police said.

Wilson was arrested a second time on Jan. 6 and charged with multiple counts of aggravated child abuse and child neglect.

The child’s mother, Kristen Swann, who admitted to knowing about the abuse and failing to seek medical care for the boy. She was arrested on Jan. 6 and charged with two counts of child neglect.

A waitress at Mrs. Potato Restaurant saved a boy. Our hero Flavaine Carvalho was working on New Years Day when she notice a 11 year old boy covered in bruised. When she took the family’s order she stood behind the parents and showed the boy a napkin that had do you need help written on it. The boy nodded yes.
The father didn’t allow the boy to order food. The bitch mom just sat there quietly. Once Flavaine took the order she called the police.

Mrs. Potato was already at the top of my list for the next time I fly into Orlando, because potato/Irish chick love affair, but now to tip this waitress too! Well done Flavaine! :joyful:

Nod to Diners, Drive Ins and Dives for featuring Mrs. Potato on their show. :hungry:

Of course they are bloated sods.
Sterilise them and 10 years in a cage
One meager meal every second or third day.
Let their water come from the toilet.
To be fair, these two pieces of shit look like they spend too much time in the toilet.

During a news conference on Thursday, Flavaine Carvalho said she was working on her day off at Mrs. Potato Restaurant on South Kirkman Road on New Year's Day when she noticed at one of her tables, everyone got food except an 11-year-old boy.

She said when she asked if something was wrong with the food, the stepfather, Timothy Wilson II, told her he was going to eat dinner at home later.

That's when she said she noticed bruises on the boy's face and arms.

"I could see he had a big scratch between his eyebrows," Carvalho said. "Couple of minutes later, I saw a bruise on the side of his eye. So I felt there was something really wrong."

Carvalho says she wrote the boy a note that read, "Do you need help? Ok" and stood behind his parents where they couldn't see. After several attempts, Carvalho says that he signaled yes. Police were immediately called.

The boy was taken to get medical attention -- that's when horrific injuries and details were discovered.

"What this child had gone through, it was torture," police said during a news conference. "Seeing what that 11-year-old had to go through, it shocks your soul."

Not only was the boy underweight for his age, but he described abuse that police described as torture.

"He said ratchet straps were tied around his ankles and neck, and he was hung upside down from a door. He said he was hit with a wooden broom, and handcuffed and tied to a large moving dolly. He also said he didn’t get to eat on a regular basis as punishment."

Police say the boy was also forced to do planks for 30 minutes at a time. If he failed, he would be beaten.

The couple's 4-year-old child was also removed from the home

Is that Harry Potters uncle?
Honestly! I knew his weird, repulsive, squinty expression looked familiar, but I couldn't quite place it!

I am glad that boy will be finding a caring, loving home for the new year. These two fat fucks should be starved and beaten as they did to him! And that waitress would be getting a huge tip from me! God bless this young lady!
Here's hoping. Sadly, at 11 years old, it's more likely that his life will be one of rotating foster homes, attachment disorder, behavioral problems, academic struggles, poor mental health, and eventually drug abuse and other risky behaviors. Obviously there are exceptions, but often it's out of the frying pan, into the fire for these kids, rather than salvation.

Maybe the high profile of the case and the trust account will help things work out differently for him. I hope he gets some very excellent therapy and a foster parent he can form a strong bond with before it is too late.

Very good story! Not only did she exhibit excellent customer service, she stepped up to care about the humanity of this 11-year-old, who was going through a horrible situation. Flavaine Carvalho did an excellent deed simply because she wanted the best for that child, and did not want to be a potential indifferent bystander. I absolutely love what this woman did, as well as her level of compassion and sophistication.

As for the disgusting bloated parents, I hope they get popped like balloons.

The ex-wife of a Florida man who was arrested for abusing his stepson claims she ended their marriage after he wouldn't stop 'whooping' her two toddlers, as the boy's biological father claimed the restaurant manager who saved his son 'is a walking angel.'

Timothy Wilson II, 34, was arrested in Orlando on January 1, charged with multiple counts of child abuse after his stepson told police how the 360 pound bully handcuffed him to furniture, hung him upside down and battered him with fists, a broom and a back scratcher.
She said: 'He seemed really nice at first and I couldn't tell that he was mistreating them until it just got really controlling and he started whooping them.'

Powell, 37, added: 'I told him I didn't agree with it because he wasn't their father and I kept telling him and telling him they were too little.

'They were two and four, they needed a time out or something like that, not a whooping.'

Powell wed Wilson in 2006 and moved to Washington while he was stationed at Naval Air Station Whidbey Island.

But within a year Amanda said she fled and filed for divorce to protect her sons, Bradley and Aaron.

Amanda said Wilson wouldn't let her use the car or mingle with other military wives. She says he also began to hit the children with a belt.

'He threatened me daily. There was a time he hit me and tried to choke me,' she added.

The marriage ended in a blow-out fight, which saw Amanda being carted off to jail while Wilson was left with the boys.

'I told him if he did it again he was going to regret it and he went to whoop them again,' she said. 'So when he came back I broke his nose with the glass top of a jewelry box.

'I had scratches and scrapes where we had been tussling. When the military police showed up they defended him and I went straight to jail.'

When Wilson dropped the charges Amanda, a furniture plant worker, says she left jail, picked up the kids and immediately returned to her family in Athens, Alabama.

Her blood ran cold last week when she heard on the news that her ex-husband had been arrested for allegedly abusing his 11-year-old stepson.

'I can believe it, it's probably because it wasn't his child,' she added. 'When you marry someone, you take their kids in, you don't treat them like they're different.'
The 11-year-old's biological father Heath Lewis also chimed in on the shocking abuse claims, praising restaurant manager Flaviane Carvalho for her heroic actions.

He had split with his son's mother Kristen Swann, shortly before his birth in October 2009, claiming in divorce papers seen by DailyMailTV that she 'committed adultery'.

Swann married - then divorced - a second man before hooking up with Timothy Wilson II around six years ago.

Their daughter was born four years ago. DailyMailTV is choosing not to name either child.

Lewis, 32, said he hadn't talked to his son for six years because of the strained relationship with his ex-wife.

He says he's since been in contact with the Florida Department of Children and Families, however, to apply for custody of the youngster.

'I rang the lady at the restaurant to thank her from the bottom of my heart. What she did was amazing. She is just awesome,' Lewis told DailyMailTV.

So nearly everybody he's ever met knows he's an asshole to kids who aren't his biologically. I really hope he get the same treatment from his friends in the poky. Controlling assholes like him are generally cowards when it comes to beating on people their own size. So let the games begin!

A 36-year-old Orlando man accused of beating and starving his then 11-year-old stepson was found guilty of child abuse and neglect, the Orange-Osceola State Attorney’s Office announced Monday.

Timothy Wilson II was arrested after a server at Mrs. Potato Restaurant on South Kirkman Road called police to report injuries she spotted on the boy as he sat with his mother and 4-year-old sister on New Year’s Day 2021.

The boy was taken to Arnold Palmer Hospital for Children, where medical examiners discovered extensive bruises on his body and a broken arm. He was also about 25 pounds underweight.

Flaviane Carvalho, the server and manager at Mrs. Potato Restaurant who spotted injuries on the 11-year-old and used handwritten signs to communicate with him, was widely hailed as a hero as the case attracted national attention.

An Orange County stepfather was given life and 30-year sentences Friday for the child abuse case that sparked national attention.
According to court records, a jury found Timothy Wilson, 36, guilty of 10 charges in June, including false imprisonment of a child, aggravated child abuse with a weapon and child neglect.

On New Year’s Day 2021, a waitress at the Mrs. Potato restaurant called 911 to report a case of child neglect.

The waitress, told officers she noticed that a family of four entered the restaurant at around 11 p.m., and the 11-year-old victim was separated from the rest of the family.
Investigators found that the boy had been tortured, maliciously punished, and deprived of food and water for days at a time.

A search warrant revealed that the victim was kept in a separate hotel room used for storage, away from his stepfather, the victim’s mother, and a younger sibling.

The boy’s stepfather, Timothy Wilson II, was arrested on multiple counts of aggravated child abuse and child neglect.
Police said when they interviewed the child’s mother, Kristen Swann, she admitted to knowing about the abuse and failing to seek medical care for the boy. She was arrested and charged with two counts of child neglect.

Investigators said both the boy and a 4-year-old girl were removed from the couple’s custody by the Department of Children and Families. They said there was no evidence of physical abuse to the girl.

Police said the family had recently moved to the area and were staying at an extended-stay hotel.

wow a judge that actually thinks of the victim :) life and 30 years now that is a juste consequence for the actions he chose :) i sure hope he never sees life outside of prison ever again... i sure hope that this little boy did find a family that loves him and that stood by him and gave his strength to overcome what torments he went through in his short life... his bio father said he was trying to get custody oh his son but where was he for those 6 years? nothing but nothing would stop me from seeing one of my kids and making sure they were also in a safe and loving situation if i couldn't be with them on a daily base.... if the father wasn't strong enough or willing enough to be part of his child's life how can he be strong enough to help that child be the best possible him he can be ?? all the while providing him with the physically, mentally and emotional support he surely needed and will need for a longgggg time..... any updates on the egg donour? was she charged?? what did she get if she went to trial?? she is as guilty if not more than he is... her only responsibility was to protect her child and she sure didn't do that .... and please please make her stand in front of the same judge ... cuz for me that card of "being abused, fearing for my life" is worth squat .. you were so afraid for you life that you let your own child be abused in your stead selfish , selfish, selfish,,, no mother worthy of that title would try to play that card ever ....much less let one of her kids be abuse in her stead.....

Kristen Swann, the mother of an abused 11-year-old boy who was rescued by an Orlando restaurant worker, was sentenced to nearly a year behind bars.
A judge sentenced Swann to 364 days in jail with credit for 16 days served and will serve 14 years probation when released. She is forbidden from having contact with her son or any other minors under the age of 18.
The now-viral rescue happened at Mrs. Potato restaurant on New Year's Day in 2021 when Flaviane Carvalho, a waitress at the restaurant, observed the boy's parents did not order him anything to eat or drink and secluded him from the rest of the family. She also noticed bruises on the boy's face and arms.

Carvalho then wrote "Do you need help?" on a piece of paper and showed it to the boy, while keeping it out of his parents' view. After a few attempts, the boy indicated that he needed help and the waitress contacted the police.

I completely agree that the waitress, Flaviane Carvalho, saved this boy's life.

I got very angry when I read that the military police sided with the abusive scumbag and put his ex-wife Amanda in jail for breaking his precious nose when he went to beat her two toddlers. I would have got in his face and the cops' faces and said that it was worth going to jail! I would have made a phone call to the kids' father in lockup and told him what was going on.
