A female is charged with child cruelty after her 3-month-old baby was thrown to the floor in Milton, according to the Santa Rosa County Sheriff's Office.

Heidi Nicole Burchinal, 26, is charged with one count of child cruelty. She's being held without bond.

Deputies say the child was cleared by EMS and DCF was notified.

According to the report, Burchinal and a man were drinking earlier in the night. They then went to sleep, but the baby started crying.

The report states the man started feeding the baby. Burchinal then woke up, took the baby and said "I can't take this anymore" before throwing the baby to the tile floor.

A Milton woman accused of throwing her three-month-old baby to the floor will not be prosecuted, State Attorney Bill Eddins announced.

Heidi Nicole Burchinal was arrested on July 21 on one count of child cruelty. The arrest report stated the man started feeding the baby when Burchinal woke up, took the baby and said "I can't take this anymore" before throwing the baby to the tile floor.

According to a release from the state attorney's office, the complainant Shawn McDonald filed a false police report and said Burchinal did not throw her child to the ground nor harm the child in any way.

On the night of the incident, EMS examined the baby and saw no symptoms of any abuse, the release states.

McDonald was arrested and taken to Santa Rosa County Jail . He is charged with filing a false police report.
