ANDREW WILLIAM SHELLEY, 21, ARRESTED FOR CHILD NEGLECT AND 4 COUNTS OF AGGRAVATED CHILD ABUSE

BREVARD COUNTY, FLORIDA – On Tuesday, the Brevard County Sheriff’s Office arrested 21-year-old, Andrew William Shelley of Merritt Island for causing severe injuries to his 3-month-old daughter.

The investigation began this morning when Agents with the Sheriff’s Office were contacted by the Department of Children and Families in reference to an infant that was in critical condition at Arnold Palmer Hospital.
The subsequent investigation revealed that the infant was transferred to Arnold Palmer after the mother brought the child to a local hospital in Brevard County just after midnight.
Medical personnel advised that the infant had sustained significant trauma to the head and chest area that were obviously caused by physical abuse.
Agents determined that the injuries to the infant occurred while the mother was at work and the victim was being cared for by Shelley. The victim remains in the hospital in critical condition.
Shelley, who was charged with Child Neglect and 4 counts of Aggravated Child Abuse was transported to the Brevard County Jail where he is being held on a “No Bond” status.
I am disgusted by the actions of this coward and find it hard to imagine that anyone could be so evil and heartless as to attack and injure an innocent infant!

Behind the bars of the Brevard County Jail is the only place suitable for someone like this and I am extremely thankful for our Agents who made sure that’s exactly where he is!

My cousin went to work with a happy healthy baby girl and came home from work to disaster. When she went to feed Low she realized she was having a seizure. 
On the way to the the children’s hospital hospital she had at least 7 seizures in the ambulance. They gave her the 3 main meds to stop the seizures with no help. Within 12 hours she was in surgery to insert tubes to help drain the blood in her head. 
My cousins baby girl has a fractured skull, blood on her brain and a cracked rib. She is going to be sedated for three days and then they will wake her up to see how she is doing.
She has tubes inserted through her scalp and skull to drain the fluid and relieve the pressure. They will be in ICU for a minimum of three weeks. I’m hoping Low does not have brain damage but the amount of trauma was severe so she might you just never know they said. My cousin brought her to the hospital thinking she was sick and running a fever and that maybe it was the cause of her seizures. 
Turns out her father was aggravated and took his frustrations out on her around 2:30 yesterday he hurt her (he has changed his story multiple times) My cousin didn't get home for 8 hours. In those 8 hours he didn't call anyone to let them know that she was not waking up not making noises and twitching (most likely small seizures) Once at the hospital it took him another 4 to 5 hours of my cousin messaging him begging for the truth of what happened for him to confess to what he did. She of course told the police right away. The police arrested him and now my cousin who is a single mother with baby Low and another daughter age 12 will be out of work watching her daughter closely. This money will be to help cover medical bills and help keep a roof over their head while Low recovers.

A 3 month old baby could have never done anything to this idiot that deserves to be punished in any way. That little 3 month old is as innocent as it gets. People can be so unbelievably stupid. More details have been released in the case of Harlow, the 3-month-old girl fighting for her life after deputies said she was physically abused by her father Monday.

The girl was injured when her father, 21-year-old Andrew Shelley of Merritt Island, became angry because the infant was crying, according to Shelley's arrest report.
At about 2:30 p.m. Monday, Shelley "forcibly shook the child and threw her into her bassinet, causing her to strike her head on the metal frame," deputies wrote in the report.

Shelley did not call for medical assistance or notify anyone when the child became unresponsive, reports said. According to family members, her injuries were not discovered until Harlow's mother, Melissa Burt, returned home from work about 10:50 p.m.

Harlow was admitted to the Arnold Palmer Hospital for Children and Women in Orlando with a fractured skull, a broken rib and bleeding in the brain.
She underwent surgery Tuesday to relieve the pressure on her brain and remains sedated in critical condition, family members said.
During examination, evidence was discovered of a prior head injury and broken rib. Deputies said Shelley admitted to causing the current and past injuries.

He was charged Tuesday with four counts of aggravated child abuse and one count of child neglect with great bodily harm. Shelley was being held Thursday at the Brevard County Jail on $250,000 bail

"Behind the bars of the Brevard County Jail is the only place suitable for someone like this, and I am extremely thankful for our agents who made sure that’s exactly where he is," Sheriff Wayne Ivey said on social media.
Lindsey Rubio, Burt's cousin, told FLORIDA TODAY the child is expected to remain in the intensive care unit through Christmas.

"Not that there's any good time for this to happen, but the holiday season is just the worst," Rubio said through direct message. "You're supposed to be happy and cheerful and with your family, and she's going to be at the hospital for a lot of these happy moments."
Rubio said Burt is a single mother of two and taking unpaid leave from her job as a convenience store manager to watch over her daughter. Rubio started a GoFundMe account to help her cousin make ends meet as Harlow recovers.

Mom was arrested for failure to protect the babe....text messages show she fuckin knew what was going on.

BREVARD COUNTY, Fla. - Text messages show a mother knew her baby was being abused by the child's father but still allowed him to care for the infant, according to the Brevard County Sheriff's Office.

Deputies said they found the texts after the 3-month-old daughter of Andrew Shelley and Melissa Burt was taken to a hospital in critical condition earlier this month suffering from broken ribs, a brain bleed, two skull fractures, a fractured femur and a fractured tibia.
Shelley is accused of causing the infant's injuries while Burt was at work.
Records show that days before the girl was hospitalized, Burt sent Shelley a text asking, "no bruises today, right?" and another one asking, "is her head, OK?" Deputies said in other messages, Burt told Shelley to "be gentle" and "be so delicate" and indicated that she wouldn't let friends and family see or photograph the baby because of her bruises.

Burt told deputies she knew Shelley had bruised the infant on at least two occasions and once caused redness around her mouth by "pushing the bottle into her mouth because she wouldn't eat," according to the report.
Deputies said Burt failed to protect the child from harm because she knew Shelley was abusive but she still let him watch the girl five days a week while she was at work.
Shelley was arrested Dec. 4 on charges of child neglect and four counts of aggravated child abuse. Burt was arrested Wednesday on a charge of child neglect with great bodily harm.
