Police in Alabama say a 2-year-old boy accidentally fatally shot himself inside a motel room.

News outlets report the child's mother and a man were charged with manslaughter after the shooting in Mobile on Thursday morning.

The boy was taken to a hospital where he was pronounced dead. His mother was identified as 29-year-old Dynesha Harris. Harris was released from jail on bond Thursday night.

Police believe the child, identified as Corey Davis Jr, was left alone in the room with the loaded gun and accidentally shot himself.

The man was identified as 25-year-old Tony Fowler. Police didn't say what his relationship with the mother and child was. Fowler was also charged with marijuana possession and had four outstanding arrest warrants.
