A Hephzibah High School teacher was placed on paid administrative leave after sharing a controversial message with the Confederate flag on Monday.

Melissa Fuller's daughter is a student at Hephzibah High School. She said her daughter's teacher put a picture of a Confederate flag on the board with text reading, "A sticker you put on the back of your pickup truck to announce that you intend to marry your sister. Think of it like a white trash 'Save the Date' card."

"She found it offensive, so she sent it to me and asked me what I thought," said Fuller.

Fuller posted the photo to Facebook, which brought in more than 150 comments from fellow parents and community members. She said a lot of the comments were from people who shared her concern.

Fuller said her biggest problem wasn't with the picture. It was with the text.

"Why was that used?" She asked. "With it being such a rough area, why would you put that out there to a class discussion that could have turned very ugly?"

Fuller said her daughter once wore a Confederate flag belt buckle to school. She said her daughter took it off after the school asked her to, but she still got an in-house suspension.

"If she can't wear that belt buckle, then why is it appropriate to make an assignment out of it?" she said.

She said she put the picture on Facebook to get feedback from other parents, not to get the teacher in trouble. The teacher has been put on paid administrative leave, and was not available to comment.

Seems like a dumb thing to put out there for any purpose.

As for comparing the terms white trash and n bomb I gotta disagree. I don't see it cutting as deeply as insults and racial epithets go.
White trash can only be levelled at certain segments of Caucasians.
The N bomb can be lobbed at any black person no matter their socio-economic status. It will always get a response.

I have no issue with teachers educating kids on why the Confederate flag has a dark, pro-slave history and has no place in society. But the teacher didn't even bother explaining the reasoning behind it, just threw out some derogatory comments probably to seem more "woke" to the kids.

That tactic can be effective. I pushed "nigga" out of my trashy white roommate's vocab by explaining that eeeeveryone was judging him as a bucket of trash when he said it (because why on earth would he care that it causes real damage to black people? God forbid he ditch a precious, beloved slur for the sake of others) but really, that should be a last resort. And there is NO reason to mention incest or the "white" trash part, the teacher could have easily left it as "trashy".

I agree that any even vaguely racist words, to ANY shade of person, is completely inexcusable for a classroom. It's amusing, but this is a school.

I absolutely think nigger is worse in every way though, for the reasons @Sejanus mentioned.

The precious little inoffensive and always so wrongly persecuted darling little tribe that intends to bring Hephzibah back into existence as portrayed thru the charlatan Isaiah 62:4, will just never stop with their hate filled treachery to all other races.

If your not allowed to just go displaying and using the word "Nigger" as you please, It would make sense that the same should go for the term "White Trash", In modern times they are as equally derogatory towards the races they are intended for.
Equally derogatory? You may want to crack a history book, dude.
I don't know any white people who give a fuck about being called white trash.

I play a pvp game that gets pretty toxic. Saying any version of N word in game will get you a permanent ban from any game made by the studio. Even the most toxic know better than to use it in game. Every once in a while you see one try...its like watching an A-bomb go off.

I play with a lot of streamers and youtubers and also record myself. There's always some poor soul recording when shit hits the fan. Lucky for me, I can just edit it out, although I lose good content because of it.

Few months ago during a pvp scuffle I had a 1vs2 were two guys tried to bola and flamethrower me. Im dancing around avoiding them, tribemate comes and kills one, I kill the other. Looks really good...until you hear the audio that goes with it.

The reality of it was that they were running around me yelling "[tribemates name]'s a n***er!"...my tribemate kills the one saying the N word. He's a streamer and in the fuss they assumed I was him. My recording has me in discord going "he's hard R'ing!" in a voice you can hear the cringe in. My tribemate however was streaming when it happened. His version goes something like " Whaaat?! Does he think thats me?? He's hard R'ing!" *quickly muted stream audio *. He received a temp ban from twitch because someone else said the N word using an in game voice function...

Had he run around screaming "[tribemates name] is white trash!"..I could have included that footage and my tribemate wouldn't have taken a ban. There most definitely is a difference in social perception between the two terms.
