A mother is facing criminal charges after cigarette burns were found on her young son, according to court documents.

Mariah Ralynn Shields, 23, of Salt Lake City, was charged with child abuse.

Earlier this year, Shields’ 2-year-old son was video chatting with his father, who was in another state. Shields informed the father at that time that the boy “had a cigarette burn on his back,” according to charging documents. When the father asked how that happened, Shields said she was asleep at the time and didn't know, the charges state.

When the father returned to Utah, he took his son to see a doctor where two additional cigarette burns were located on his forearm and near his collarbone, according to charging documents.

Sleep smoking, Mom? Hope you get a cellmate with Restless Leg Syndrome that spends all night kicking you in the ass.
It's possible.

When I was taking ambien, I cooked full meals while I was asleep.
I would have zero memory. I also shopped like mad on home shopping network TV.
After a month of that I quit taking them.

Then I didn't take any for many years. A couple of years ago I was in the hospital and given ambien (honestly, I was awake because I was enjoying the free tv.)
I did more sleep shopping while I was there. I bought a purse on ebay. Made from the shaft of cowboy boots. Sounds cool, should have been cool. It wasn't.

I was home a couple of days when a pkg arrived.
I had and still have no memory of purchasing it. But it was in my purchase history.

I now have ambian in my listed allergies.

I've only taken Ambien once— right after you have Lasik, they give you an Ambien so that you will keep your eyes shut for six hours or so— and I got up, made a sandwich, ate it, and went back to bed in a different room. Don't remember any of it.

No shopping though.

We're lucky we didn't get the notion to drive somewhere.

We have a couple of stories here involving ambien. One lady went outside and woke up on her front lawn being raped.

WTF, did they own a saloon?!?
Lol no. I lived in Missouri. My mom smoked 2 packs a day. Whenever family would get together it was like a cigarette minefield for anyone waist high or shorter. My grandpa went from cigars to chew. That was a big thing back then, I remember a lot of people would chew and walk around with nasty cups all the time.
