NYPD scuba divers recovered partial bones from the water off Coney Island — two days after finding a lower leg in the same area, police sources said Sunday.

The remains — along with a black belt — were found at Riegelmann Boardwalk and West 5th Street around 6:30 p.m. Saturday — two days after divers discovered a left leg stuck in the rocks nearby, the sources said.

A set of keys were also found at that time.

Cops said the area of the beach were the remains were found was closed, but beachgoers were still sunbathing nearby Sunday.

“Disgusting,” said Caitlin Galeotti, 27. “Absolutely disgusting.”

The Carroll Gardens woman said she hadn’t heard about the grisly find. “I have not gone in the water today,” said Galeotti, who was tanning in a beach chair. “I typically don’t go in the water for that reason.

Awesome story. Hope they find a shit ton.

Reminds me of those stories out of Canada i think it was(wasnt it like nova scotia or some shit?) where they kept finding feet washed up. If i rmemeber right they chocked that up to transients committing suicide off bridges and then breaking down in the water and the shoes causing the feet to break off and get found.

She doesnt go into the ocean cuz of the offchance there COULD be a dead body/body parts in it???

How fucking often does this shit occur for someone to seriously swear off swimming in the ocean cuz of it?

What the fuck?

Really... it's very casual to find body parts up there I guess! I still want to know who this feet they kept finding belonged to.

I am more worried going in the ocean with marine creatures jizz and shyte.

@JackBurton the feet now numbering 20 I think it is with the last one just this last February washed up on the British Columbia Coast. Three of them were identified so far as belonging to suicides jumping off Bridges. The bulk of them are believed to have come from victims of the tsunami from 2004. I remember the time one of the coolest things in the story that made it so difficult to identify the feet. The human foot actually produces a soap like substance the longer it stays in the water and it actually changes it's so much that it's almost impossible to get any type of forensics off of it. So in a way they're self cleaning!

She could still come in contact with a lot of different bacteria just lounging in the sun or pushing a shopping cart at the grocery store.
