A Milwaukee man is accused of sexually assaulting a 7-year-old girl who was later struck by gunfire during a confrontation about the alleged assault.

Sanchez Wilson, 36, has been charged with first-degree child sexual assault – intercourse with a person under 12 and first-degree reckless injury – use of a dangerous weapon and possession of a firearm by a person convicted of a felony.

According to a criminal complaint, police were dispatched to the area where they found Wilson with a gunshot wound. They learned a 7-year-old girl had been shot and taken to the hospital.

Investigators spoke with a sibling of the 7-year-old girl, who said she indicated Wilson had sexually assaulted her.

Later, the complaint said Wilson was seen on the front lawn of a home in the area, holding a gun and pointing it toward the street, and another man was pointing a gun toward Wilson. Two or three shots were fired.

The 7-year-old’s mother told investigators she had been at work that morning, when her sister called to tell her about the sexual assault. Later, a family friend aware of the situation was standing in the street when Wilson came outside and an argument ensued. The mother said she didn’t see either man pull out a gun, but did hear two to four gunshots and realized her daughter had been struck. She carried her inside and then drove her to the hospital.

The 7-year-old girl told investigators both Wilson and the family friend had guns when she was struck. The girl required surgery at the hospital as a result of the gunshot wound.

Wilson was found in the area shortly after officers were dispatched. He was taken to the hospital for treatment of a gunshot wound to his upper thigh. At the hospital, the complaint said he told investigators he “had no idea why he was shot.” In a later interview, he said there was an argument with another man, and the man shot him. He denied having a gun, and denied any sexual assault allegations.

The complaint noted Wilson 2012 was convicted of causing a child to expose genitals in 2012.

Causing a child to expose genitals? So what he just depantsted a kid? Innappropriate prank, but big deal.

Wonder if the shooting was related or was this just some other random thug shit that just happened to coincidentally occur at the time.

This is why people, especially children, are afraid to report assaults. This little girl will always know that 'had she never told this wouldn't have happened'. She will most likely become victimized again and just accept that this is life. Being a victim and taking the abuse is less 'drama' than reporting and being hurt even more and /or branded a liar. WHY the fuck would 2 idiots allow a 7 y/o be in the vicinity when guns are being drawn? Fucking morons.

"He was taken to the hospital for treatment of a gunshot wound to his upper thigh."

Damn, should've been a gunshot to his eye, not his thigh. Asshole.

I have to disagree. Typically a gunshot through the eye at a 90 degree horizontal axial plane to both the cranium and spine is far more survivable than a comparative wound to the upper thigh, due to the absence of major blood vessels behind the eye, the presence of the femoral artery in the leg and it's proximity to the epidermis in the upper thigh. It's pure luck that this guy didn't die from hypoxic brain injury from blood loss via hemorrhagic trauma. In short, you are more likely to survive a 9mm round directed straight through your eyeball than a flesh wound to the wrong part of your thigh.

You wouldn't have to wonder if you read the article.

. intercourse with a person under 12
It wasn't a silly prank. He raped the child.

Appears every adult in this situation turned it into a giant screaming street drama instead of taking the victim to a doctor and relying on law enforcement.
The victim of child sexual assault is now also the victim of family and crazy ass street melodrama.
Poor Kid.

There is no way this is accurate.

You never know for sure with these hood thug trash types

There is no way this is accurate.

Provided the bullet misses the brain stem, you are far more likely to survive penetrative trauma to the cerebellum than hypoxic brain injury from major arterial hemorrhage. There have been many cases of soldiers taking a .50 cal HV sniper round to the head resulting in the utter obliteration of 30 to 55% of brain mass and surviving. Severance of the femoral artery is comparative to having your carotid artery bisected.

You seemed to be saying before that a shot thru the eye is less dangerous/deadly than a shot to the thigh.

Now youre changing things up a little bit by making the more specific point that a shot thru the eye that enters brain but misses several of the most vital areas isnt as deadly/dangerous as a wound that severs the femoral artery.

Still doubt the accuracy of that, but evne if true, that doesnt mean getting shot in the upper leg is worse than thru the fucking eye. The odds that your femoral artery is NOT hit should be taken into account, obviously

Yes, I see your point.

That's why I stated "Typically a gunshot through the eye at a 90 degree horizontal axial plane to both the cranium and spine" and "wrong part of the thigh"

But, yeah. That's a one in a hundred shot even at point blank range. However if the angle of the shot headed toward the outside of the skull, you'd have an even better chance. If I had to choose, I'd take one in the thigh, knowing that I'd probably die from blood loss, rather than take the chance that my assassin had laser pinpoint accuracy.

I wondered the same thing, why the fuck was she even outside with her accused attacker? All kindsa crazy!

Shoot.
To.
Kill.

In a case like this he was known to be making threats.
Shoot him dead.
Dead folks don't hide.
Dead folks don't run.
Dead folks can't ditch the gun.
Dead folks can't lie.
Dead folks never re-offend.

Defense: I was in fear for my life and that of my family. He claimed he was here to kill us.
No jury in the land would convict.

Sanchez Wilson was sentenced on Friday, Feb. 14, to 35 years in prison and another 20 years of extended supervision following his October 2019 conviction on charges he sexually assaulted a 7-year-old girl who was later struck by gunfire during a confrontation regarding that assault.

According to a criminal complaint, on March 29, 2019, police were dispatched to the area where they found Wilson with a gunshot wound.

Two to three shots were fired.

The 7-year-old’s mother told investigators she had been at work that morning, when her sister called to tell her about the sexual assault. Later, she, her daughter, and others were in a vehicle — and a family friend arrived and overheard the conversation — becoming upset. That man was standing in the street when Wilson came outside and an argument ensued. The mother said she didn’t see either man pull out a gun, but did hear two to four gunshots — and realized her daughter had been struck. She carried her inside and then drove her to the hospital.

The 7-year-old girl told investigators both men had guns — with the family friend shooting at Wilson, and Wilson shooting at the family friend — when she was struck.

He denied having a gun, and denied any sexual assault allegations.

i think the bullet was aimed at his tiny penis but couldn't find it and as bullets cost money it didn't want to go to waste so hit what ever it could find. lol 37 years isn't too bad a consequence if he had to serve every year of it. and 20 years of extended supervision is a joke unless he is bodily connected to his supervisor.

Instead of taking the child to the hospital to see if she has any internal injuries and address any sexually transmitted diseases the mother and "family friend" get the child shot.

I think Child Protective Services need to investigate this mother and her household.
