A former Southwest Florida doctor is facing some serious charges. A local CVS employee's suspicions helped put 67-year-old William Robert Burkey behind bars Monday.
The Lee County Sheriff's Office says Burkey entered a CVS Pharmacy store in January, where he asked for help in uploading pictures from his phone to a photo kiosk. The report says the employee described Burkey as "nervous" and did not want the attendant to look at his phone and photographs.
He printed and purchased the pictures, along with cocoa butter and personal lubricant.
The CVS employee reported the incident and LCSO looked into it.
Burkey returned again a few days later for more prints. Detectives confirmed the images were pre-pubescent female children.
LCSO issued a search warrant at Burkey's home, where they say they found even more photos.
