Sentenced: Jayjuane Hardy Knocked A 72 Woman's Teeth Out For Praying

A 44-year-old man was found guilty of beating a woman who was praying inside of a homeless shelter in Fort Myers.

The jury took five minutes to declare Jayjuane Leonard Hardy, of Ohio, guilty, according to a news release from the state attorney's office.

The arrest occurred in July.

According to the state attorney's office, Hardy started shouting at a 72-year-old woman who was staying at a Fort Myers shelter because she was praying in Creole and Hardy demanded her to stop.

When the woman continued to pray, the defendant began to beat her with his fists, according to the news release.

The victim returned to Haiti after the incident. Assistant State Attorney Heather Searcy prosecuted the case with medical records.

The victim had fractures to her head and some of her teeth were knocked out. Her eyes were also swollen shut from the beating.

She was hospitalized for about two weeks because of the beating, the state attorney's office said.

Hardy will be sentenced on Jan. 23, 2018. He faces up to 30 years in prison.

i'm gonna go with someone hella indignant, who sees themselves as justified to spread misery because they had to go through some misery themselves.
and i say for the millionth time, you are invalidating yr own pain by breeding what hurt you. be a part of the solution not the problem.
 
Apparently he was sentenced. I believe the Criminal Punishment Code Scoresheet Filed recommended 15 years (if I'm reading it right). Pretty much all the decisions are locked up, probably due to the appeal in process.
